My speedo has served me well, 15+ years on no tickets.

Waze, and a good attitude when Waze fails me. No tickets in the last 10 years.

CHiPs got me last week for 73 in a 55 on a NorCal mountain two lane road (with no cell service, thus no Waze), even turned around to stop me. "Gosh, officer, I really thought it was still a 65 zone, and yes, I was going 73. Sorry I pulled so far over to the shoulder, I did not realize you had to approach on the passenger side, should I move?"

After running my license and tag, he came back and gave me a detailed rundown of where the 65 and 55 zones were to the Nevada border, and let me go. Not even a written warning. M'lady just shook her head.

I used to rely on waze all the time. Never failed but roving cops that have not been reported will nail you anyway.

When on US 19 through Summersville-Beckley it says 55 or less and strictly enforced-----it is. Lol.

Other than that you can usually run 85 in the 70 zones on I79 and I77 except in VA where they will confiscate your Valentines and give you a free night lodging

There are many sites that test radar detectors using scientific methods. Rather than reading them, you are asking people on a forum which is the best??.

If I ever need a heart transplant, I’ll be sure to ask people on a forum for advice rather than doing my own research.

Best youtuber on radar detectors is vortex radar, check out his site. If you are looking for best range without arrows Uniden R4 for $300 can't be beat. I am an old Valentine1 radar user for decades. The new units false so much less, check out his site and you will find out what works best for your budget.

Funny, 30 years ago I knew maybe half dozen people with a radar detector. Was just musing a few months ago I guess these were no longer a thing? This thread proves me oh so wrong... lol

I have my gen 1 Valentine mounted on dash. I don’t speed. So it’s mostly just a cop detector. The false alarms are insane. Maybe I need a new one. And a faster ride. Like others, I miss my German car
