Ford spec is 39 front and rear which is far too high. I run the rear at 32, 34 in the front. You barely have a contact patch running them at 39 in the rear. They still aren’t great in the rain, but lowering tire pressure helped a ton with RWD traction. Are these the factory C load KO2?
yes. Factory. I might even be higher than 34. Appreciate it!!!

Straight driving in rain and normal turns they have worked out great for me but I love driving in rain. Definitely, tight turns in rain with too much speed they get to the limit easily.

The 39 psi spec is for the unique lightweight Goodyear Territories.

And on my 22 Badlands with BFGs. It’s on the door jam sticker. Fordpass app also states 39 PSI is “optimal”.

i switched to the badland wheels with KO2 's on my big bend for the 1'' lift and looks. i experienced the same issues. Lowering the tire pressure to 35 from 39 made a world of difference.

I had KO2s on my Tacoma because I loved the look, however after about 25K miles I felt they were dangerous to drive in the rain. I did lower the pressure some and ran with 2 sand bags in bed of truck. When I got my Bronco I researched tires that were good in rain and I ended up with Mickey Thompsons Baja . I love the look of these as well and after 30K miles they still do great in the rain and snow.

Toyo open country at’s do better in wet/snow, still look pretty darn aggressive, and also are available in SL (in 33” size at least) so they don’t ride as rough. They will probably be my next tires when the KO2s go.

This is why it's best to run studded slicks everywhere.

A very unusual lightweight and versatile tire (Goodyear Territories), my two SAS trucks ride like a dream with good performance under all road conditions.
Reduced wheel end weight enhances fuel economy.

I am a fan of Yoko's - A/T XD's - beefy, handle great and snow rated as well.

Like many have stated, lower pressures help immensely in my experience. I've had these on a couple vehicles, and the tires feel like rocks on the wet stuff. I used to add weight in my pickup until I simply lowered the pressure for ~6 months here in the NE. I still hate them though and can't wait to replace them on my Bronco. I only drive ~6k per year, so I'm looking at 7 years one way or another - Ugh. I will say that in 4WD they launch very well from a start with my 7MT, but still feel little confidence in turns. This can be fun in the ice/snow until there's a blind curve and a car coming opposite, with a jackass riding your ass.

I had a set of the BFG TA/KO's years ago, they were actually great in all conditions and I put 60k on them...and they still had life left when I sold the vehicle with them on it. I want to say I was running about 35psi in them on the '99 GMC S-series 2-door Jimmy, so a roughly similar size/weight vehicle.

I switched all my other vehicles to General Grabber AT2's (now the ATx), because it was essentially the same tread pattern. They have been, in my experience, just as good if not a better tire with great wear and great traction in all conditions. On lighter vehicles I've run them at about 32psi, on my HD trucks I've run them closer to 65psi at all 4 corners and keep up with my tire rotations to keep them in good shape. Never once had an issue with traction in any weather with them. The only issue I ever had with them was on a '95 GMC 2500 4x4, but the wheels on it didn't like weights at all, and I let it sit on wet ground while I unloaded pine branches from the bed (stacked taller than the cab), and the thing sank into the yard...and if you know ANYTHING about those old GM 4x4 systems, you know the front axle had to be able to move to engage...that truck wouldn't move but an inch either way, so it wouldn't engage. Wife had to grab (ironically enough) that Jimmy with those BFGs to pull it enough to get it to engage.

TL: DR, unless they've changed something in the tread compound of the BFG TA/KO's, they're a good tire with great traction in all environments...there's a good chance you're just running too high of a pressure for the vehicle they're on.

I've been running my OEM KO2's since I bought my Bronco in sept 2021 and have driven them in driving rain, and 3 Atlantic Canadian winters (lots of snow and ice) and have never felt anything but the utmost confidence in them.

When the time comes, I will definitely be replacing them either with another set of KO2 or maybe the newer KO3.

I have 285 BFG ATs on a 2022 4 door V6. I don’t off-road at all but like the look.
Is it me or are they absolutely horrible and actually dangerous on wet pavement. If I am at a stop on a slight hill and give it gas I can spin them forever. A 20mph right turn on a residential street causes spin. Any gas and it’s full on fishtail. A curved 40mph road feels like I am too toeing.

this all on wet pavement and not still raining.

any suggestion on a switch to a better road tire that isn’t hideous?
yeah i had them on an expedition .slippery to say the least
went to believe it or not ...firestones lol
