Thanks for sharing, it looks great. I'm planning to do the same thing and I thought for sure those crash bars were coming out. Keep us posted if you experience any rubbing with the suspension flexed on the trail.

This is my planned replacement size and brand but in the All Terrain for a nearly identical Badlands. When I mentioned it before people flipped over the E Load Range rating. You have the MT so I expect some ride difference but I'll ask anyway. Do you notice a difference between the E and C? Did you change (lower) the air pressure over the stock suggested pressure? This is my BL, non-sas, with the optional beadlocks on BFG KM3 285/75/17 Mud Terrains. My goal was a little chunkier look with a more aggressive tread pattern. No rubbing even at full turn. Didn’t touch crash bars. I needed to shave a little off the spare tire rubber stops to accommodate the added thickness. 3rd brake light in original position. I lost a little ride quality and added a little road noise. Exactly the look I wanted.
Bought tires back on Memorial Day when on sale. Paid about $1800 less $70 rebate (Simpletire.com) for 5 tires and $150 for mount/balance (local Firestone).
Sorry. Been slammed. I haven’t noticed any performance difference (but I’m still gentle on the throttle because of break in period). Requested pics:this is the set up i am going with so thanks alot for sharing this. if possible, would love to see more pics from different angles, particularly to show how tucked the tires are- head on shot maybe
as far as performance difference, what have you noticed?
forgot to mention, i have 285/75/17s on my Jeep (with a 2 inch lift) and they are going strong at 53,000 miles - did not notice any performance loss
Now that you have been running these for a while what is your opinion? Does it feel sluggish at all getting up to freeway speeds and maintaining 80 miles an hour? Any issues running up hills and what not?Sorry. Been slammed. I haven’t noticed any performance difference (but I’m still gentle on the throttle because of break in period). Requested pics:
Its unsprung weight, which has a huge effect to the vehicle feel. 22lbs is MASSIVEThe optional M/Ts are Goodyears correct? I want some tires that work, every Goodyear off road tire I've ever seen or used wasn't worth a flip. I already have RTR wheels sitting in my garage so I'm gonna shed some weight off the stock wheels already and its an off road SUV not a racecar. I'm not worried about every pound I add or take away.
I would chalk test that and likely drop the pressure. You won't get all the ride quality back but you'll get some because I think you're overinflatedI did stiffen the ride quality slightly with the M/Ts. Most people wouldn’t notice. They are not as loud as I expected, thankfully. I’m running at about 42 PSI. Haven’t played with different air pressure yet.
