Blown engines getting some press [Motortrend], maybe Ford will finally let us know what's going on?

I'm driving mine with little worry, but I'm not sure I'd want to go out into the wild by myself right now either.

Still not sure if we have crossed the threshold from "anomalies" to "full-blown crisis" yet, but the more of these I see, the less disappointed I am that I switched to the 2.3 to get it sooner ... assuming I actually get it. I was dead set on the 2.7, initially.

Met someone last weekend who said their 2.7 had to be replaced in their F150. It was a 21 Model with 7500 miles.

You would think with the motor being out for a while it wouldn't be having these issues.. Makes you a little nervous

Probably a dumb question because there is no certainty to anything, but are we fairly certain that if your engine was not built from 21133-21281 (May 13 - Oct 8th) that your engine is not impacted? Mine is 21301 so not too far from October 8, so I'm still a little nervous. Ford really should issue a statement related to this.

News to me but the mileage at failure is very low and relatively consistent.
Hopefully the surprise wont come a year or 2 into ownership
