Blown 2.7

First blown one I've seen (in a Fusion, not mine). E50 Unleashed tune and IC only mods

Just an unlucky data point we all think (it happens here and there).
He had det in cyl's 3 and 5 a couple months back. Went back to stock tune, did compress test.
All was fine, went back to 93 tune and then eventually back to E50 tune, and then boom.

Jeez, in a Fusion? I won't go above a 91 tune in my Flex 3.5 because the PTU is only good for ~400hp. I can't imagine a Fusion drivetrain is any stronger.

Couple FS's in the mid to high 11's @ 116-118. No drivetrain breakages on those 2 cars, only a couple fluky front axles here and there (not even guys racing). I'm tuned on 93 for years now, been on road course 3 days (and couple 1/4 mile track nights) and beat it up pretty good. I have no worries about the 2.7 (or the PTU really, just change the oil a LOT, like every oil change if you are really pushing power), great engine.

It was an Unleashed tune, but a little on the aggressive side according to owner. But Torrie doesn't put out unsafe tunes, so I don't think that was it. Tuned 2.7's, in Fusions at least, do eat plugs. So he probably had bad detonation (maybe from bordeline plugs), hurt the motor a little, then months later it went.

Needless to say, this was disappointing!

since It’s the first blown one you’ve seen, thats pretty good. Sound like they do very well with mods. Seem to be a lot more 2.3 ecobooms.
