I've read a number of the threads here and was wondering if anyone else had this issue... Seems top brands are Motorcraft, Trico, and Bosch.

I needed new blades and picked up some Bosch Icons which I've had for other vehicles I have owned. No issue. They worked great in the past. But for some reason, these blades seem to bounce on the windshield unless I have the speed set just right for the rain condition. I've only used standard window cleaner on the windshield.

My truck only has 17K miles, but I was getting a lot of streaks before changing. No streaks with the Bosch... just bouncing alert if the blade moves to fast and the rain is too light.

I replaced mine with Bosch icon cause we sell them at my work. Noone had motorcraft except the dealer. Ive always ran bosch with no problems. Noticed yesterday they have a slight skip. Probably 1500mi since new and barely any use. It seemed to get better after prolonged use but if it continues Ill go back to MC

Might need to adjust the wiper arms by flexing them a little. 🤠

recommend Raim X Endura...take it from a guy who lives in Seattle. They are awesome and I have tried a lot of blades before I settled on these.

I've had 4 sets of wipers on my bronco. the motorcraft that can on them sucked so i replaced them with motorcraft they were just as bad. then i got bosch icons and they we ok for a while but always left a little streak. then they started bouncing and chattering within a few weeks. i finally got tired of that and exchanged them with Scrbblades and they have so far been the best.

I have mostly used Trico because I can get them cheap on RockAuto. I just buy a few sets to make the shipping worthwhile. I like their Ultra model but where the blade attaches to the wiper arm will sometimes cause some "turbulence" at high driving speeds that will cause the wiped water on the driver's side to follow the blade back an inch or 2 on the downward swipe.

Ok, I've always had this theory that the higher end blades are stiffer material with additional edges (like multi blade razor) and depending on how stiff my wiper arm is and the age of the windshield they skip. The trick seems to be having the edge turn over when changing direction.

I go the opposite on my '95F250 and use cheap, single edge blades. The softer the better. Yes they don't last as long (and aren't worth anything in hard winter ice until the windshield warms) but with rain they work much better and don't skip around.

This was easier when I could just replace the rubber blade itself within the holder but alas, the parts stores around here no longer just sell the cheap inserts.

Just my $0.02

dude.. this exact situation drove me to the brink this week. Had the envisions, they still didn't have the wear sticker showing and they were skipping every setting but full on. but eventually full on they did also.

i cleaned them, put silicon on them, cleared the glass with Windex. didn't matter.

Went and got new ICON ones, and 3 days so far so good. but this time i wrote down when i changed so i can see.

I’ve had no issues with the Bosch Evolution wiper blades, which are less expensive than the Icons.

Well, I suppose there is company in misery. Those blades were not cheap.

So the consensus is all wiper brands are junk? OEM certainly seem to be this winter.

The oem blades work fine and leave no streaks so far, 7k and 7 months. I’m in FL and they have wiped off plenty of dust, sand, mud.
I wonder if they just work better in warmer, wet climates.

Bouncing wipers are typically because the blades don’t flip over between strokes. If you watch closely, you can see where/when they flip and determine at what point they are not behaving correctly - you can try a slight twist/bend of the wiper arm which might assist…

This worked for me. Raise your wiper blade and lower it back to the windshield. It should be vertical. If it points up then likely will skip on the up stroke. If it points down then it may skip on the down stroke. Think of it like a broom that you sweep with and the angle you hold the broom at. On the upstroke it should point down and then flip up on the down stroke. If not it won't matter what brand you put on. Use vise grips and/or crescent wrenches and something like a microfiber towel (to prevent scratching) and raise the wiper up off the windshield and bend the wiper arm to correct the angle. Lower it back and check. Continue tweaking until it is right. Do not drop your tools on the windshield either. There are videos on you tube if needed.
