probably because of body flex. The brace helps eliminate the flex as roof panels/latches squeak when they move. Shock tower strut stiffens a vehicle in the same fashion.@KHC Dale like others Iām curious on the exact function of this brace and how it stops the top from squeaking?
Theres a super easy $5 fix for the squeaking hard tops. Simply put heat shrink tubing on the plastic coated alignment pegs. It takes about 15 minutes to do and works like a charm. My hardtop squeals like a pig at times. I really dont want to have to buy this thing.....Ughhh

If only it was that simple. I havenāt had that stupid tappling noise for a year, I wrapped those things in electrical tape the first week I got the Bronco. There are so many other squeaks and rattles than this one.Theres a super easy $5 fix for the squeaking hard tops. Simply put heat shrink tubing on the plastic coated alignment pegs. Man i'm sorry. Mine is quiet and has had not a peep since I did all of them.If only it was that simple. I havenāt had that stupid tappling noise for a year, I wrapped those things in electrical tape the first week I got the Bronco. There are so many other squeaks and rattles than this one.
Oh come on the hardtop can't handle wax, sun, or even light moisture and you're gonna tell me it adds structural rigidity to the Bronco....I have no idea if this actually does anything. But what what itās worth, I do notice that the Bronco shakes a bit more with the soft top than with the hardtop which actually anchors the body better.
