Do you know this for a fact? How do you explain that sales are down 30% while production is not?
Pretty sure no OEM can report dealer deliveries as “sales”
These are not reservations, these are orders placed through Ford car dealerships on behalf of actual customers who have decided to purchase the vehicle. Technically, an order isn't counted as a sale by Ford until it's delivered but the factory is tooled up to build all these orders.

That is a pretty shitty comment to make when I provided a link to show that your wrong. Ford doesn't count it as a sale till its delivered to the dealership.

like I said before Ford doesn't and can't sell directly to consumers due to franchise laws...so WHAT do you not get about that?

That article referenced customer orders that are delivered to the dealership as being counted as sold as soon as it is delivered . That's because it is "Sold" . Regular stock for the lots is only counted as sold when it is actually sold to a customer of the dealership.

Dude, a sell is to a consumer, not to a dealership.
A sale to a customer is a sale for a dealership.

A sale to a dealership, is a sale for the manufacturer.

It’s pretty obvious that they don’t get that

All I’m saying is that the reported sales from the first post of this thread are considering actual sales to business/consumers, not “sales” to dealers

And you'd be completely wrong.

Your still not getting it-its what Ford has SOLD to its dealer network. A car/truck/suv might sit on the dealer lot for less than a week or it might sit there for months on end.

So with your logic, everything produced would be sold assuming they can deliver everything to the dealerships

Your logic would not explain the name of this thread: 12,000 units produced, but only 8000 sold

Where is your logic? Have you never considered that there are shipping delays, hold ups at the plant for parts, etc that would affect sales numbers to dealerships.

So answer this one:

https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/thre...ales-production-4-805-sold-82-produced.83816/

How can Ford only make 82 Broncos but sell 4805 them?

Your just being obtuse.
They made 82 broncos because they were on strike. They sold off dealer inventory..this does not prove anything one way or another.
