4th of July we went out to Bronco Knoll. This was my first time since I purchased in November, actually taking my Bronco off road. I’ve got the A51 OBX and my friend has the Badsquatch. From what we’d read there were different trails to get up there, but we ended up starting from the north east side of the mountain/hill. Trail wasn’t too bad, although the loose rocks made it very slippery. Had to climb over a few bigger rocks on the way up too but didn’t have any issues. Drove up in 4Lo with the rear locker engaged. Had to use the front locker once to get over a rock but that was the only time. Could’ve been my novice driving skills also.
Once up there it was a great lookout! Signed a rock and added it to the pile. The only sketchy part was the decent. We didn’t go back down the way we came up. We continued west across the top and down the other side. We scouted it first or we thought we did. There was a heavily rutted out part that was also about 25° vertical. I definitely should’ve removed my steps before I went out. Luckily I made it down without too much damage as you can see from the pics. Just smashed up the side step a little bit. We both dented a crossmember on the way down that way too.
After getting down we ran some trails getting up to about 45mph which was awesome! The bronco handled great! I was really pleased with the suspension and the ride quality.
Wish we would’ve thought ahead and got some more video but we were just having too much fun and living in the moment.
