Who Else Has Made It To Bronco Knoll?

My son and I finally made it to Bronco Knoll along with some friends.....
If you get a chance to visit Johnson Valley do it....You have everything there from sand dunes,dry lake beds open dessert trails to climbing mountains....

Is there anywhere to camp out there or can you just primitive camp in the vicinity?

Not sure what the rules are in California. I guess if no one is around it’s probably a good sign you’re good to go.

There will be signs if camping is not allowed in any area....

BLM land..good to go unless posted. National Forest, usually good to go but should check rules because sometimes permits are needed (like one for camp fires at least)

State parks...I think only is designated camp grounds and with fees.

Just tell them you're homeless after buying the Bronco due to the ADM and various other Bronco taxes you had to pay. They let them set up camp anywhere out here

Which trail did you take up?

Yellow trail up. Green trail down. Yellow is fairly steep with lots of loose rocks. No problem with rear locker and 35s. Green is more gradual with several 8-18" ledges. Again, no problem with 35s.

I was there last Friday, it was 108 when I was driving out. I took green up and down, no problem on 33s. I did not see a single soul the whole time I was out there, was hoping I'd run into someone.

I forgot to cut my Gaia on when I was going up, but I looked it up when I got home. It is just a shade under 3800 feet elevation and around 400 feet higher than transmission line road.

Coordinates on the screenshot aren't exact.

There’s some decent drone footage at the beginning of my video I shot at the beginning of June. I haven’t seen much that shows the scale of the knoll.
