My old 92 explorer is still kicking with all its electronic computer bits it left the factory with. It got its first replacement water pump a couple of years ago. It wasn’t leaking, but I had to put a radiator in it and I figured I might as well put a pump in it while I’m there. Everybody talks shit about the old “exploders” but damn if they weren’t tough and dead reliable. My bronco has got some big shoes to fill! Of course if it lays down on me I can rely on the explorer to get me out of a bind 😂

We plan for this to be our last ever "new" vehicle, and from what I've seen with the last few it should be good unless it gets hit by lightning.
Worse case scenario? EFI goes bad? I installed an FITech aftermarket EFI on a 43 YO chevrolet pickup, and it's never run better. Aftermarket DIS system if the original stuff completely kicks the buclet. If it runs on electrickery it can be switched. Sure not everyone is going to need to or be willing to get into it that far, but the option is there.
Also keep in mind the popularity of the Bronco guarantees a darn good aftermarket.
There are a lot of 20+ YO cars driving around so that seems a pretty reasonable expectation.

So I'd do a poll if I knew how;
How long is the avg lifespan of a Bronco? Could be generic due to the amount of electronics in all cars these days, but it's getting to the point it should be prohibitively expensive to keep a car 10+ years due to the amount of electronic vs mechanical integration. If you buy a $60k+ car is it worth it to only last 8-10 years before repair is more expensive that vehicle value?

How long do you think your Bronco will last?
If you take care of it, change all fluids every 8 years (or so), all maintenance, keep it washed.....it can last many years. Decades. It may depend where you live....thinking road salt usage. I have a 2006 Dodge Charger Daytona. Zero issues. All Maintenace done. It still looks in show room condition. I plan to keep my Bronco and the Wife will keep it after I croak (I told her I would haunt her a_s if she lets any new boyfriend drive it!!!)
