Bronco Stalled Out

So I was hauling an empty trailer up the Rubicon after bringing in supplies for the Jeep event next week (irony i know).

While climbing out Cadillac Hill, I was applying gas to get over the rock. As I crested, Bronco just dies. I lose most brakes (electric brakes suck). I fall back down only a little ways thankfully. Engine started right back up and no codes. Finished the 14 hr wheeling day and wheeled another 2 hrs today with no issues.

I have a 21 2.3 auto. Never experienced an issue like this before. Any ideas?

No one ever replied. Did you get a sense of it?
To me it sounded like a glitch in the engine or driveline management, possibly the torque converter being told to lock up, dragging the engine RPM down, and stalling it. That's really the only thing there that might have done that. Either that or the transmission freaked out and tried to go into a gear that killed the motor as well.

No clue but I chalked it up to pretty much something around what you said. Hasn’t done it since.
