For me, not at all. I'm attracted to the Bronco because of its powertrain (MT+turbo), offroading capabilities, and the fact that it looks like the boxy SUVs of yore, by which I specifically mean it looks like an old Land Rover. I really don't see much connection to the original Bronco and I'm fine with that.

Honestly, the 60s styling and white top of the original does not appeal to me at all.
I guess the 60's era SUVs had that upright and square look that is becoming popular again with the retro interest. The new Bronco does have some of the design cues of the old Land Rover but you will agree that it looks more like the original Bronco than anything else as it after all gets its design inspiration from it.

It's like , somehow, they made the new one appeal to both of us!!
All the bitchin about it being too big or too small the past 4/5 years....and it's sounds like it's perfect for damn near everybody!

I obviously have the 1G, but I also had a 1989 K5 Blazer for awhile.... = to the FSB. I LOVED that one also, but the 1G Broncos stole my heart.
Two totally different vehicles and different capabilities though.

I expect Ford to offer a "Heritage" package based on what we heard from one of our inside guys a couple months ago. Curious to see if it is available to see with B&P or later. Somebody else at Ford said white top at "launch". Whenever that is... December?

I was lurking when I read that. I'm holding out hope not just for the white top, but the CG concept with white grill, white handles/trail sights, white interior (roll bar/dash/etc.). If it isn't available when B&P goes live, I'll wait to see if such a trim is available in 2022. If Ford fails to deliver, I'll buy a used Black Diamond in a few years (Florida owners won't be putting hard miles on theirs). Picking up a used one, then I have no problem customizing it to achieve the look.

As we all know Ford was considering some pretty futuristic looking designs for the new Bronco but hats off to those within Ford who fought and won for the retro look and the designers who then knocked it out of the park.

The retro design approach is easier in the sense that there is a previous design to follow.
But it is very difficult when the previous model was a knockout which in Bronco's case it was.

That is what makes the new Bronco very special....it lived up to the original and for some it exceeded it.

(y) Ford!

I love the heritage of the Bronco and the fact Ford keep pretty true to the original, but it it is maybe only 30% of the reason I'll buy a Bronco.

The other 70% is because it's not a Jeep, I want the better IFS ride quality, more room and better quality than FCA ever will be.
As we can all see, yet agin, North7 is a numbers man!

You guys have been here a while!
Makes some of us newbies ashamed of being so impatient with the B&P being just a few short months away when you have been waiting many years!

I think it may be cool to have a star or something next to the avatar/name of the first 100 or 200 or those on here since 2016 etc.

Never cared about the old Broncos and never owned or even rode in one. Wife likes the old ones, we both like the style of the new ones.
Hmmm...Well William, looks like the wife is the romantic and you the practical one!

Just sayin.....

She tells you that....frequently?!:oops::LOL:

Personally for me I’ve been drawn to both the looks and history of vehicles like the Bronco and Mustang. The originals were great from the start and set the market on fire with their popularity. Like the Mustang the Bronco has a rich history and many adoring fans and owners of past and current Mustangs. I was excited like a lot of people when they first announced it’s return but didn’t give much thought on the design, aside from it being boxy with removable doors and roof and there being a two door option.

Design wise if it ended up being more modern and original, I don’t know if would deter me from wanting and owning one. Maybe if Ford didn’t make a two door option, I’d maybe go get a two door Wrangler instead. But anyway I always loved the Bronco’s rich history like the Mustang and I would be excited to own a new Bronco regardless on how the design could of been different. I’m glad they went down the current design route.

So the Bronco is bold and beautiful and bodacious and by all accounts it has legitimate off road ability.

All that is enough to make it desirable but I wonder how many of us are consciously or unconsciously affected in our decision by the history, heritage and lovely looks of the original generation Bronco.

In other words if the new Bronco was just that, new, and it’s design was original and there was no heritage or history or the first generation to link it to, would you still find its current goodness attractive enough to be as enthusiastic as you find yourself now?

For me that connection with the past is meaningful.

So for those who owned these...how long did the B&P take to come out? In magazines? Just wanna know what to expect.

Was there a Levine Sr. who tweeted via radio..
