Thought I'd share a fun project I'm working on. Placeholder post for now, pics to come (still waiting on parts to arrive).

Update: parts are in! Unfortunately it looks like some of the parts are wrong so this budget build will have to require some clever re-engineering ...

Okay, so, what started out as a simple beach cruiser refresh turned in to a chassis swap because I couldn't be bothered to return the wrong parts.

Started out with a hard top body and a pile of parts:

Chopped off the roof and cleaned up the underside, then stripped to prep for paint:

Baked the finish to cure it faster and helps with corrosion resistance. Here's the motor and trans in the oven (tight fit but it fits):

Now for reassembly. A keen eye will immediately be able to tell which parts were ordered wrong ...

Luckily I have a fairly well equipped home shop so it was an easy fix:

My build plan:

buys certified 4-door bronco in 2-3 years with off-road package and 2.3EB, 2.7EB (if available) or Hybrid (if available). Add roof rack if not on all ready installed (if possible)

Install a larger fuel tank if possible

install a decked Or similar system, put my 1 day, and 3 day packs in one side and all vehicles things in the other including tools.

drive it till stock tires are gone, probably when the manufacture waranty will be ran out anyways. Put on some all terrain tires but still for mostly road driving (being realistic).

At this point upgrade underbody protection if needed. Maybe do an inch or so lift kit.

retire the bronco and if I have not restored then fix up the 91 Chevy (recent image below), let kids drive bronco to highschool.

Seeing that I’m 22 with no kids at this point. This is a VERY LONG TERM project.

Black diamond. 2dr manual. Maybe mid pack Depending on the cost. Will most likely vinyl wrap the roof. Plan to make seat covers and a bikini top. Would like the tailgate tray. Color is up in the air but cactus gray and amb are on the shortlist this week.

I totally forgot I even made this thread. Man those were good burgers though. I have to make them again but I think instead of Sweet Baby Ray's I'll use this:

Ford Bronco Build Thread (37"!? With sliders!?) Gunshot-Sauce-Hot-And-Spicy

It's not really that hot but it's pretty tasty.
