Introducing the COBB Front Mount Intercooler upgrade for the 2021+ Ford Bronco! A direct replacement of the factory intercooler, the COBB intercooler offers significantly improved cooling efficiency leading to higher, more consistent power. For years now EcoBoost vehicles have been plagued with an underwhelming intercooler setup, making an intercooler upgrade one of the best bolt-on modifications you can do! The intercoolers that Ford decided to pair with EcoBoost powered vehicles are undersized and extremely susceptible to heat soak. With an underperforming intercooler you will see a reduction in available power, something that could prove detrimental when off-roading in harsh environments.

This is one of the highest quality intercoolers on the market with CARB certification to back it up, making this intercooler upgrade 50 state legal! This intercooler is made of cast aluminum and TIG welded and features a core with 53% greater volume over the stock unit! It was designed and made right here in the USA in Cobb's facility in Austin, TX. Cobb set out to create the best flowing intercooler possible and utilized computational fluid dynamic analysis to create an extremely smooth end tank design which increases air flow and allows it to flow evenly through the core which results in no areas of significant turbulence. Even the outlet port was designed in a way that allows a smooth transition of air out of the intercooler and into the throttle body to further reduce unwanted turbulence.

This intercooler fits entirely into the OEM location without cutting, trimming, or permanent modification required to your Bronco! It also mates up snuggly to the OEM shutter shroud to funnel air through the ambient side fins, just like OEM. It is available in both black and silver. If you are interested in picking up a Cobb intercooler for your Bronco, you can do so using the link below or you can reach out to one of the Panda Reps here on Bronco6G!

Very cool. Just to clarify - is that supposed to say WITHOUT “cutting, trimming or permanent modification required”?

I agree with SKIRIG. There definitely seems to be a typo in the description found in the introductory post by Mitch Panda Motorworks. The description reads... This intercooler fits entirely into the OEM location with cutting. The word with should be without as described at their web site.

The info below is from the web site:

FEATURES
Ford Front Mount Intercooler Black Bronco 2021-2022

  • 23% Increased Cooling Efficiency
  • 53% Larger Volume
  • Cast aluminum TIG welded assembly
  • No cutting, trimming, or permanent modification to the vehicle required
  • Mates up snugly to OEM shutter shroud to funnel air through ambient side fins like OEM

Does it stick forward any more than stock?

It fills out the entire stock intercooler location, but does not protrude. It does fit quite snug on the shutter shroud, so it uses every bit of space available.

That should work for me then. Nice.

What is the HP gain on a $900 intercooler?
Hp gain isn't the point.... BUT.... if this unit does indeed flow smoother than factory it would be worth a few.

Agreed it’s more about NOT losing power due to do heat soak. The intercooler would be ideal to support tuned or future turbo upgrades too.

Cobb spends so much time on R&D, they don't just sell stuff that does not work. The goal of an intercooler isn't so much gain or hp/tq but more so keeping everything cool especially in constant hot conditions.

Have they tested and measured the amount of " reduction in available power" with the stock intercooler and then shown that their part makes a measurable difference?
Or, are they making bold unproven claims to sell a very expensive part that won't really make a difference in available power?

You must be new to forced induction..

Along the lines of the other comments...

Definitely tired of these "more power" claims, of course always with no evidence. Funny thing is that even if there were some tiny gains, the noise and lack of repeatability in dyno testing would not permit observing it!

The point is they are claiming an increase in available power without backing it up.
COBB has done in house testing on this unit. We have not yet but will be soon.

With that said the gain may not be peak it maybe under the curve because the stock unit is causing a loss in power with higher charge air temps.

Secondly an intercooler should be looked at the supporting mod to achieve more power than it providing a boost just for installing it. OEM intercooler on a hot day will cause more loss in power on the trails than a unit of the cobbs that keeps the temps in check. When increase the boost it will be able to accommodate that increase to allow the extra power to be had and maintained.
