My 25 Badlands has suddenly started frequently displaying a large collision warning on the dash while driving normally. It seems like the system is working but going off way, way, to soon and from vehicles both in front and behind me. I verified the sensivity setting is on low, where it's always been. I'm familiar with phantom warnings on other vehicles and this doesn't seem to be that. Yesterday, for example, I slowed behind a car making a right turn that slowed more than typical and the warning came on even though I was well behind the car and slowing, not even close. There were no other vehicles present or I wouldn't have even suspected the slowing car as what triggered the warning. The braking assist features did'nt seem to activate.
Is there some sort of reset that should be done in such a case and can the consumer do it?, or can the warning be turned off completely?

Look in settings-driver assist and you should be able to change it there I believe.

I just see the 3 sensivity settings there, and I verified that it's on the low sensivity setting where it's always been.

It all depends on how you drive really. You may not think you were close enough to the other vehicle, but depending on your speed and many other factors, it's going to warn you either way. I find it over-sensitive in a lot of situations also sometimes.

At least (or maybe not) it's just a 'warning'. The wife's Mazda slams on the brake when a collision is determined to be imminent. I'm not a tailgater, but in heavy traffic, I've been surprised a few times.

The first time it went off on the Bronco, someone unexpectedly turned left in front of me from a 'go straight' lane to my right, cutting me off. Crazy people on the road, right?

Mine does this as I approach someone turning right who I will definitely clear. I don't mind it too much I am usually already very hyper aware as i am closing on them at speed. It is usually on rural two lane I get this.

Same here. I think it’s triggered if the car in front is turning and you are still accelerating, even if you’ll easily clear.

You can. Mine stays off for a while even after turning the car off and on but then out of the blue, it will be on again and ultrasensitive.

Did anything change on the Bronco before it started? New windshield, etc? Maybe an ADAS recalibration by the dealer is in order.

As most have indicated "collision avoidance" is oversensitive even on the lowest setting - far too many false positives.

I turn "collision avoidance" completely off (on the same screen or the one just before it) as I find the system blaring at me and forcing my attention to it a real safety hazard (irony is probably not lost on Ford/government, but they do it anyways).

However, upon restart Ford forces a popup onto your screen that is easy to accidentally reply to turning it back on...so you have to learn to not respond to the pop up's when first starting the Bronco.

We need a "pop up blocker" for our vehicles now...damn "software enabled" cars :ROFLMAO:
