Dealer has a solution now for Bronco's headlight turning on/off randomly -- answer: replacement headlight switch

Local dealer checked my Bronco today and found a code indicating my headlight switch should be replaced (free of charge). They have ordered the replacement switch. Hopefully this will take care of the ghost headlight puzzle.

I saw the code, but forgot.

Thank you! It’s (so far) the ONLY issue I’ve found with my 22’ I knew this was a known issue but wasn’t sure it’d been resolved. I was told (over the summer) Ford would have a replacement logic board for the switch in October. That never happened lol.

I bought the switch directly from a ford dealer (local dealership refused to look at the SSM 51166) instead they flashed the module. That did not work. I got the switch 4 days after I ordered it and installed it myself in all of 5 minutes, I can report it has fixed the issue!

Do you have the correct part number for the switch with the fog lights button?

My dealer ordered the part yesterday, so it'll be in within the week, and I have it scheduled for that and the first 6-month oil change.

Mine does this, they just turn on or won't turn off- and at total random times. How do you prove to the dealer that it does it and get them to order and install a new switch? It's not something that is easy to prove or demonstrate.

Mine also does this. I took it in and it will throw out a code. Still don’t have it fixed I’m waiting for them to get a switch. I need to do it soon because it does this at least once a day probably more that I don’t see.

They can check if there is the error code.
