Interested from the dealership sect on the forums... Approximately, how many of your reservations/ orders ended up getting cancelled on Nov 22nd? My dealer said (yes, I know...) "a few" which was both non-specific and unhelpful. From the peanut gallery (non-dealers), have you heard anything from your dealer about how many orders weren't converted?

My dealer said 47 out of 184 didn't convert. I was 82 out of 184 before converting and I just got scheduled for 1/16, so some of those helped me move up, and I have a base with Sasquatch but no high end chip related mods, so that helped too. Many of the orders at my dealer are high end builds.

That seems to be about what I expected...

Iā€™d guess that most dealerships would convert the orders over even if the customer no longer wanted it. That way they can resell to somebody else.
I thought all of these converted orders were limited to COVP to avoid that.

Granger's numbers:

531 Orders Placed
224 Orders in "99" status that will fall off
117 Unconverted reservations

So 341 total out

Correct. That way the dealer can't just take the orders as dealer stock. That was the point of COVP.

I've thought that COVP was devised so neither the customer, or the dealer, couldn't game the system.

Wow... that's a big percentage. Is it because of their limited allocation forecast for 2023?

Has Ford officially dropped orders? Are they gone from the system?

Or are they lingering around like those 'canceled' order from the last two years that miraculously arrive at the dealership.

I was going to add that piece to my earlier post too. I'm pretty sure only a few honest dealers let those orders slip away. How many times have we read that so and so dealer never cancelled the order plus there was a disturbing amount of dealers that weren't concerned about COVP or hadn't heard of it. Odds are we're going to see allot of "abandoned" orders from dealers that had customer information still on hand and were just doing the original order holder a positive.

That's my interpretation as well.
Who knows for real? It's not like Ford has to abide by some law or regulation. This whole ordering/delivery process is totally made up by Ford, and as such, they can change the system anytime they want. It's just frustrating when they change the rules in the middle of the game.

I don't know for certain but I'm sure it was. Granger got allot of orders when we thought Ford was going in reservation order when that changed some people went elsewhere or bought something else.

My midsize dealer in Ohio had 60 orders drop off with 79 remaining for 2023. Even if theyā€™re allocated 15-20 a month itā€™ll take til late spring/early summer to get the rest of us scheduled. Iā€™m one of their older orders at this point (Oct. 2021) but still amazing that Ford is this slow to trim their backlog.
