Right on! I have noticed a whole lot of dissapointment with the folks who couldnt afford the Sasquatch or higher trim features and go to have them added later and are absolutely shocked when it turns into a giant pain in the ass. My buddy intentionally bought a base, but he is super mechanical and has totally badassed that Bronco. What he couldnt do, he found a shop that could. At the end of the day, he has spent way more on that Base than my Wildtrak.

100% why I went with the Black Diamond trim. The price point for what you get made sense to me...the 4.46 gears which easily roll 35" and 37" without struggle or sluggishness. Plus steel underbody protection....It's a really good trim package to get you to your final build. Just add lift, tires and a couple of brackets without much coin. I only hit bumpy dirt trails but can do more if i want.. oh, and I do all of my own suspension upgrades to avoid all of these post-covid overpriced shitty workmanship stories.

While I appreciate getting a good deal on SAS by buying a Heritage, I do think it’s odd that it’s standard on this trim. Ever odder that they dropped the 2 door model for ‘26 in this particular trim.

If retro looks are the point, a 2 door HE with smaller tires and ride height would make sense.

I just think it's odd putting the SAS package w/o full skids. They make big deal about the front metal skid, but leave the plastic fuel tank naked and afraid...

Out of the box, per say, if you do not have the time, funds and vision to build a custom rig, the BL Sas is the only way to get a trail ready rig off the lot. I am happy to see products out there to build what would be a capable option. Yes, why in Fords blue button would you NOT put a fuel skid on EVERYTHING! The Sas should be a bit more than coils, tires and fenders.

My BL Sas still received ADDITIONAL armor after arriving home. The crossmembers are the first to get destroyed on any non sand/mud trail. I added the rear control arm brackets, shocks and rear dif to the list. I would like to think that those would have been part of the BL or just the squatch option. Once again, happy to see there is options and aftermarket candy stores.

Exactly. Which suggests to me that SAS is entirely about looks on the HE. That and the fact that they put enormous low hanging sidesteps on it. Which kinda seems incongruous with the whole retro heritage thing and is incompatible with serious wheeling.

Like N8do said, Badlands is good to go off the lot with or without SAS. Whereas if I wanted to really wheel mine, those steps would have to come off and the tank skid go on just for starters. Probably sliders too. Those steps would be off already if not for my wife. She loves them. On the plus side, they do offer outstanding protection for the paint from the rock chucking GY tires.

I think Heritage would make more sense as a color scheme on the base model. Still love mine. Just sayin.

Sooo...which 6G Bronco / Model / Trim comes closest to its 1G roots ???
I believe the 1G trims were Base... Sport...Ranger...
