Morimoto HBX Combo 2 Bangers mounted on Z-roads single bracket. I like the smaller look and intensity. They come handy on backroads at night and have saved some deer from getting bucked. Experimented with the angle to minimize reflection from the hood.

I talked to one of their designers and looked at their lights at Overland Expo West. I was impressed. They are one of the few manufacturers that give a candela rating.

They are coming out with a rock/rack light I'll probably buy. They're still in development and putting a lot of thought into it.

Also they're local for me, which is always a plus. They are owned by ARB. But from their website.

"Designed, Engineered, and Assembled in the USA

NACHO engineers, tests, builds, packages, and ships everything out of our Mesa, AZ location."
Diode Dynamics and Morimoto also list Candela on their lights.

Diode Dynamics are Designed, Engineered and Assembled in the USA. I'd even go as far as saying BUILT but that can't technically be said since they DO have imported components in their lights. So that restricts them from saying that. However they actually make them here in the USA. They don't just package them (like some brands do) and say "ASSEMBLED" they actually build the circuit boards out and all that here in the states. They have a nice video that shows them building the lights. BUT again, because they may import chips or wiring or some other components that limits the "MADE IN USA" tag unfortunately.

Baja Designs was pretty much operating the same way until recently. They are owned by Bestop who has a plant in Mexico so they decided to move manufacturing down there. BUT from what we've seen the quality is still up there.

Rigid Industries is down in Mexico as well.

Morimoto is overseas.

ARB is a mix of Australia and China depending on the product.

Heretic is also a USA brand, but the thing I don't like about their lights is that they have you attach the power leads on the outside of their light using terminals. THAT I don't like and it's VERY WEIRD to do that. This is an automotive application and you never want your power leads exposed to the elements. I've seen lots of corrosion from photos online and in-person customers trucks with their lights. I like an american made product but there is room for improvement there.

Hey guys looking into ditch lights and have been reading the forums seeing lots of cool options. I do a bunch of rural woods road driving where I live with deer and etc so ditch lights seem like a good investment. Couple questions for the hive. I see a bunch of people running dual 3” pods on each side or single 4” pods is there a big difference between the two setups? Also is there any reason people don’t run huge lights like the LP6s or etc on the pillars? Also open to any recommendations or setups y’all are rocking, I do have aux switch’s. Thanks!
I just ordered these from Amazon:

I've been running these ones from Oracle and couldn't be happier. Plenty of light in just the right spot.

Great idea! However about a year ago people were having problems with the coating coming off. Has that been resolved?

I have these as well, just over a year and don’t notice anything like that on them.

Hmm, I hadn't heard of that. Have had mine 2yrs now with no issues but then again, I keep the Bronco garaged. I also haven't used these mirror lights for more than 15-20mins at a time either.

I went with Morimoto 4 bangers with the HXB led chips. They are absolutely awesome and look great as well.

If I remember correctly, the problem was with the black powder coating so it didn't matter how much they were used.

Looks like Oracle got the problem solved.

I'm running dual Diode Dynamics SS3 Sports.
With harnesses, DV8 brackets & the lights, I think I'm around $500-$550 on my setup.
I've got amber backlight in the forward facing pair & no backlight on the more side mounted pair. Also have Amber plastic covers for dusty trails/KOH desert running.

I do like the modularity of the Diodes. I can switch the bezel to a flush Mount if I decided to move them to a bumper, I can change the lens if I want a different output style, etc.

I think they're pretty good bang for the buck compared to Baja Designs.

Hey,

Typically, the LP6 is a little too large for the pillar, but it will work great as a bumper light. Our recommendation would be either an XL 80 or LP4. We recently did an LP4 vs XL 80 blog would highly recommend to check it out! If you need to see wildlife on the side of the road, the LP4 will probably be the best route to go due to the Integrated Peripheral Technology (IPT) LEDs. No matter what solution you go with, we have harnesses that will connect directly to your aux switches.

I'll probably go with the Baja Designs S2 Pro with the Wide Cornering lense. I'll aim them off to the side since I don't need them for double duty. And I can put both left and right on the same upfitter switch, probably SW5.

Brahian, you guys don't give ELS scores for the S2 Pro.
