I don't personally, locks will keep an honest person at bay but Google how quickly a real thief can get wheel locks off.
If a person is honest, they don't need to be kept "at bay" because they don't steal things in the first place. However, as you accurately pointed out, locked wheels can be stolen quickly and efficiently by a pro with the right equipment and opportunity. However, I believe that most wheel locks are not meant for the pro thieves, but rather the amateurs that can be dissuaded or defeated by quality locks-most thieves are not top tier experts but rather opportunists for which locks provide a worthy deterrent.

"honest" person would have been a better breakout then ... yes, an honest person might not kick your door in but if you make something too tempting ... well then, who knows right? I'm knocking on wood before I type this but I've never had any wheels stolen, my cars have always been parked at home or at work that has a nice guy with a gun at the gate so that usually dissuades the "honest" person into becoming a thief.

Most of the big stories you see on social media are pros, they'll go into a car lot and strip the wheels quicker than I can probably get the jack out of the back. I don't know how often amateurs or opportunists steal a set a wheels, I would think most would just break your window and steal whatever you have laying around that they could sell quickly vice a couple of big-ass Goodyear tires on stock wheels with a defined bolt-pattern.

For most of us, the purpose of any lock is to remove temptation. They often won't stop someone who's determined and persistent. You don't have to be able to stop everyone. You just want to be a more difficult target than the other guy.

That's why I put Advanced wheel locks on my spare, but not on the other four wheels. A "casual shopper" might steal a spare with standard lug nuts. But they won't bother with the other four.

After watching a Project Farm video, it was Advanced locks for me. On all 5.

Too bad you can’t get just 1 lock for the spare from Advanced locks.

I just got new tires and forgot I had a lock on the spare. Discount Tires already had a key and didn’t request mine. Thieves probably have keys too.

I decided to put three Advanced wheel locks on my spare. Looks pretty cool and I have two spare locks for when I lose one.
