Filter o-rings yes. They come with the new filter.

Recommend swapping the drain plug out for a Ronin plug. They are slower to drain but the factory plugs dump all 6 qts in as many seconds and just make a big mess.

I also switched to the Ronin after my first oil change, never have I owned another vehicle that launched oil from the drain hole the way this 2.7 does. The down side to my Ronin is, it drains slow, so what could be a 5-10 minute oil change takes 15-20.

Don't need to replace the drain plug, but good idea to buy one at the dealership and toss it in the glove box as a back-up incase you run into a problem. They're cheap.

I'm about to find out, switched to ronin during my second oil change, but I take slow drain over Niagara falls

Ronin plug all the way. You can even attach a hose to it and direct the used oil directly into an empty jug or two and take them straight to recycling without having to transfer used oil from your catch pan if you choose to do that. Yes it is a bit slower, but well worth it. I rarely have to wipe down any drippings since I switched. My first oil change I thought I had everything covered for spill containment, but boy did I underestimate the force of that oil gushing out. I spent an entire bottle of degreaser cleaning the mess I made and a good 45 minutes of cussing out my very own existence 😂

Looks good, but I know I'd lose the extraction insert. I'll be changing to Mobil1 Extended Performance full synthetic. They promote that for 20K miles, I'll probably keep it in for 10K. During that time, I just know I'd lose the insert.

I keep mine in a little baggy inside the broncos factory tool pouch which only ever leaves the bronco for the duration of an oil change.

I switched to the Ronin + at oil change time will jack up Driver side to help drain.Did not make a mess with stock yellow plug [loosened up a little waited 5 min + kept pressure on the plug while removing]-also used a 10 qt bucket rather than shallow drain pan.If my 2022 is involved in valve recall/motor replace will put stock plug back in as want to keep Ronin/drain hose combo.Drain time will cover gaskets on new filter.

I have the OEM and never had a mess, or even a drop spilled. Hold bucket near plug accordingly and remove.

I agree I change my oil every 5000 miles full synthetic. I have 36,000 miles on my truck and I’ve only changed the oil plug one time ,and that’s just because I felt like it. I think those oil plugs will last for a long time, just keep an extra.

If there's anything on the OEM plug to be worries about, it's the little rubber gasket. It probably won't fail in the first couple oil changes. But in time? Probably not worth risking it.

Especially when you can buy 8 for $16 (generic) on Amazon.
