I think that the Broncos - especially the 4-doors - look amazing when they're "naked" ... the doors off and the soft-top physically removed. But I don't know if I myself will ever actually do it because of both fearing a screwup like this and because it seems like it's a bit of a pain in in the ...

I got to skeeze the keys of my Dad's limited-edition, absolutely beautiful 1994 Jeep Wrangler Sahara when I turned 17 and we used to take the top off *all the time* ... freezing cold? Turn the heat up biatch! And the doors came off often because it was Simple AF - pull the cloth strap off the retainer and pull up on the doors .... and they could be put in the back seat so if you got caught in the rain you could pull under an overpass or bridge and "reassemble" ...

But as much as I think the Broncos look amazing with their doors and top off, I probably don't have the guts to do so.
I owned 3 wranglers and know what you’re saying. The Bronco 2 door doors are heavy and awkward. I also think they should have embedded the bolts in the body hinge so that you are either on or you’re not. Not sure of the engineers thoughts on that one.

Dropped door repair complete. So I made the mistake of dropping my door while reinstalling by myself. The first week I had it no less. I did not take any pictures of the immediate aftermath as I was too busy swearing. I had to use pliers to straighten out The corner because I was in the Keys and the door would not shut. Needless to say I was majorly pissed at myself.
I keep my Bronco in South Florida at my condo but live full-time in New Jersey. I had my local Ford dealer pick up the bronco and bring it in for repair. Because of the cyber orange paint they felt that they would have to spray the door and the rear quarter to get everything to blend well. I am OCD about my paint matching so I said no way to that. I decided that since the rockers get destroyed by the Sasquatch tire package I would just have Linex applied from the lowest crease in the door and down under the rocker. I think it turned out pretty well and if I didn’t tell most people about it they probably would never notice it. I also have a little bit more protection from road damage.

I thought about it but I like the paint color. The mudflaps were installed after the first few chips so they should reduce the damage hopefully.
I do believe Linex can paint match. I was planning on color match linex the MIC hard top whenever I get my WT.

Love it. I Wasn’t sure I’d like the color but in the sun it really pops. I get tons of positive looks and comments. Quality is great and overall feel and performance are also great.

They couldn’t color match the cyber orange yet. That was my first choice.

Thanks for the info. It will blend well with black.
I actually haven’t seen it yet in person as I am stuck in the peoples republic of NJ until March. These pics are from my friend that works at the dealership. I will take a close look and post more pics then.

Looks really good. I was thinking of doing something similar to the Line-X to hide the pinch seams on my 2 door CO. Sorry this happened to you, but glad it did so I can see how it looks before I try! 😄

The Line-X is a good idea. Might need to steal it... I feel your pain though. My wife dropped the front passenger MIC panel on a trail when I had my Bronco for like 2 weeks and I held a thermonuclear explosion inside of my chest. Luckily no broken or chipped corners, just some dings and scratches nobody can see on the top. The molded in color was a good idea by Ford to hide scratches.

I dropped my driver door Sunday reinstalling for the first time. I talked to some body shop guys I know about fixing it and they suggested this same thing since Im trying to avoid an insurance claim. They said we can smooth it out, line it, and paint the liner to match. A lot of cars come with a similar coating from the factory so I think itll do. Rather spend $1000 on this rather than $500 deductible and a claim on my insurance. Im gonna take a lot of detailed pics in case I ever decide to sell it I can show the damages.

I was gonna do this but ended up getting the Ford rocker panel guards. They come black and match the rest of the trim pretty good but it was too much for me on the blue so a buddy of mine is painting them. Ill post pics whenever I get em installed. Shoulda been done a couple weeks ago but a lot has been going on lately.
