Body shop was 1300, trying to catch up with our dent dude. new were supposed to meet last Tuesday... once straight I will use some touch up paint and live with it lol

It could be worse. I feel for you, though. Damage is always more painful when it’s self-inflicted. I speak from experience!

Mine is wood or some sort of composite material. I've used it quite a bit works well. They must have switched to metal for MY22 because lumber was too high lol.

Mine is steel (stainless, maybe?)

I looked more into this, being that the price was so low. This seems a bit scammy. Everything on the site is $70-90$, including a Husqvarna lawnmower that is about $400 normally. I would definitely be cautious.

I have had the doors off and on a several times since the "drop". Here is the key takeaways;
1. Good lighting, it was dusky dim that evening and I should have grabbed a headlamp.
2. Have a spotter.
3. Take your time

I found a Chinese vendor that sells these door lifts in lots of 50. I've requested pricing information. Given the cost to repair "oopses," it might prove to be cheap insurance if we could put a group buy together. The Amazon price is $250 each.

Man that sucks, but I've done similar things with other vehicles I've owned. I can say this and am sure you feel the same. You only make that kind of mistake once, so I would wager the door changes from now on go without a hitch.

I was on the fence about buying the door bags as well. But the handles to grab onto when removing/replacing the doors will be a great help.

The handles are a help but even more importantly the bottom of the bag has foam padding on it so when you set it down you won’t damage the door. It wouldn’t have helped this guy had he dropped the door he still would’ve probably dinged it, The only thing that’s a bit annoying with the bags is they get in the way a bit when you are putting the doors back on.

I joined the club Sunday. I work in the automotive service industry and have several body shop connections. Just based off pics a couple guys said itll probably need replaced. 1 guy thinks he can repair it but the inside edge may not be as pretty. Anything over 1200 and Im gonna have to call my insurance.
