Dual top includes roof rails apparently

Just wish we had a ballpark of when the black and the white tops would be ready to roll.

White and body color are MY22. Black is supposedly late '21 but I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up on '22s.

So why is the Modular Body Color Painted Hard Top + Black Soft Top less expensive than just the Black Hardtop on its own on the Canadian Site?

Haven't tried since the B&P update but the restriction (allegedly for GVWR, I still don't recall seeing a *definitive* statement from Ford) was with the combo of a 4-door and 2.7L engine; the 2-door with the 2.7L used to allow rails (and the bull bar and that super-duper-oh-so-heavy PPF), IIRC.

I wonder who they source their PPF from, then, cause that's the heaviest damn plastic film in the world if that alone pushes the vehicle over the GVWR - especially since it's only 3 small pieces.

No, you are not. It's listed twice as a line item but if you run the numbers you will see the Options total doesn't reflect that. I always run the numbers myself to cross-check, I trust my math more than anyone else's. Here's a 4-door Badlands with 2.7L + A/T, painted dual top and Lux package. Note that even though the dual top appears twice in the Options list the Options total is still "only" (cough, cough) $10,370 instead of the $12,165 that is the sum of all those line items.

Some are questioning that the painted dual top option costs less than the shadow black dual top (me too!) but it has been pointed out that the latter appears to include roof rails - so it's possible this is actually correct. Like most things on B&P I'll continue to maintain wary skepticism. I'd actually prefer a MIC dual top but I know I'm in the minority in not having a major hate-on for the MIC top.
