About every 3-4 times I start my Bronco, the E-Brake has been engaged, despite the fact I didn't set it the previous time I drove it. Most times, it's when the truck in sitting in my garage (not on a slope of incline). Anyone experience the same, or know what might be causing it?

Have you tried starting it with the door opened vs closed? I know some models I've had in the past auto engage the e-brake if you started without a door closed.

My Caddy used to do this too. As soon as I’d put it in gear, the brake would disengage. Not sure which conditions cause the vehicle to engage the e-brake but it didn’t seem to cause any issues at least on that vehicle.

I may have to read the owners manual again.... or dig here on the forum... But, I thought I read that the e-brake can/will set automatically (under certain circumstances).

Page 198 of owners manual speaks to Elec parking brake and page 178 said it could apply parking brake when shifting into park if there's a slope...

so doesn't speak to parking in your garage..

According to the manual:

“The electric parking brake could apply when you shift to park (P) without the brake pedal fully pressed.”

I wish the button was in a better spot .... up higher or on the center console... maybe I'm just used to the convenience of our Subaru console mounted button.

Thanks. That might be it. Will have to pay attention next time to see if this is the cause

Well, I have yet to drive it without the doors on the vehicle (or the top up)

This happened to me on Friday. I had to shut the car off/ on a couple of times then it cleared. I was sitting in park, never hit ebrake button. It hasn’t happened again but appreciate you posting this. I know I’m not crazy now!

My Raptor did this probably the first 2 weeks I owned it...I felt it every time in my garage and a buddy bought one about the same time and said the same thing. Then it just stopped doing it...his did too. No idea why...
