I accidentally pulled the brake lever too hard on my Bronco and the lever just broke right off in my hand. The brake was then engaged with no way for me to disengage it. Luckily it automatically disengaged when I started driving, I was worried I would be stuck! Anyways, anyone have this experience? I guess I'll be visiting the service dept soon...

Another completely unnecessary electronic gadget, when a simple lever and cable would have been fine… 🤦🏻‍♂️
Yeah I get that point of view. I kind of like it though, I don't have to disengage it when I get back in the car to leave. Just tap the gas and it's moving. But convenience is traded with something like a piece of plastic breaking off.

You're not the first. After seeing it happen on here a few times I'm always gentle with it.
Drives the shit out of his Bronco...

... Treats his e-brake like he's tickling the chin of a puppy.

Yep,
Anyways, anyone have this experience?
Yep, the first thing they cautioned us about at Off-Rodeo was not to pull on the e-brake hard.

I personally haven't had difficulty but that is because I rarely ever use the e-brake such that when I do, it is for a conscious reason rather than habit so it is on my mind everytime

Agree. Might be my biggest conplaint. I absoluty hate electronic brakes on an off road or performance vehicle.

you can un brake it by pressing on the bottom micro switch with your pinky. You can set the brake by pressing the top micro switch. There is a thread on here on how to put the switch back together, if you have all the parts and spring. I will look for it.

I absolutely hate the e-brake but I'm assuming it was necessary in order for trail turn assist to be an available feature

That was one of the first things they warned us about at Off-Roadeo. Apparently those e-brake switches come off pretty easily.

You’re probably right about that. Of course, TTA itself is kind of pointless, since you can’t use it anywhere without getting yelled at for tearing up the trail… 😤

Yep. NH offrodeo. The instructors beat the shit out of that dead horse. Still had two people in the group break the levers.
