Eco mode is for around town, not on the highway. It softens throttle response and changes gears faster to keep rpms low, and I believe closes some grill shutters. I would not use on the highway.

Only way I see that it's "useful" is maybe if you're in a large metropolitan area driving a lot in heavy traffic, doing stop and go driving from traffic light to traffic light. FWIW, my results (2.7 Badlands) were the same as yours on the highway or basically normal driving. It is right up there with the Auto Stop/Start.... after driving 67,448 miles you may save up to 4.3oz of gasoline, and may have reduced your carbon footprint by the same amount as having used 1/3 less of a can of aerosol deodorant over your lifetime....

That's normal for me.
I also get the best fuel economy in sport mode.
I did not like the throttle response takeing off .I'll try the sport mode on next trip . I checked it just to see the differance

There are a lot of factors that affect your MPG besides the GOAT mode

Just a slight headwind/tailwind is enough to swing the MPG like that, and not uncommon for me driving to somewhere and from the same place to see two very different MPGs because of prevailing wind.

Did a similar 180 mile round trip on Monday, averaged 25.5MPG out, and the trip average dropped down to 24.5MPG as I headed back. All in sport mode, stayed in 5th gear on the highway.

Incline/decline and prevailing winds were a factor.

Eco mode doesn’t help if you’re already getting good mpg. It’s for the drag strip drivers or those that resist using cruise control but also can keep their speed steady.

I just did 260 miles with eco and my mpg went from 19.1 to 19.3

On pavement, that is the only move I use.
Press clutch, press start button, confirm stay in sport, press 2H button, press cruise button... Motor on down the road. 😁

I've read multiple reports of folks who lose mileage by using eco mode. I leave it in normal, all the time. Since I have a manual, goat modes do very little for me.
