I like that idea!!! my last off-roader had a carb and no computer and ran fine with a low battery so this beast is a new world for me.

If I were to disconnect the battery for say 3 weeks. Is there anything that is going to have issues with that in the Broncos computer brain? it doesn’t try to do status checks of it’s systems on some schedule does it?

The Bronco's computer is the new Sync 4 so I can't really say for sure if anything will have an issue. I have disconnected mine a few times now to work on it and no issues. I have been doing it for years and never an issue. Hell in the early EEC days that was the thing to do. It would let the computer "forget" how it was running and would default to the "base" tune. My Stangs always ran better that way. Like it is always in "baby" mode. Back to the Bronc, I don't see why there would be a problem, it would just be "off the radar", it (the Bronc) would just not communicate with big brother. When power is reconnected, it would "link up" with big brother and all would be well again. I have never seen anything from Ford saying DO NOT disconnect the battery, so I say game on. Makes for a good theft deterrent as well. ;)

I was out of town most of June and the first week of July. My Bronco sat outside in the Texas heat and started without issue. Only weird thing was that my TPMS system faulted probably because the tires had not moved in a month.

As far as voltage goes, 12.7 is a fully charged battery. 12.1 is low, but not terrible. You only see the 13-14 volts while charging, either from a battery charger or from the alternator. I think you are on the right track by trying to jump it

One day last year mine wouldn't unlock or start, I placed the fob in the console and she started up. Never had that issue since.

I solve the battery drain problem with a Battery Tender: https://www.batterytender.com/?gcli...Q2-v29EmIzJoglm3sn6eXUziZSgqg83BoCoyoQAvD_BwE

If in the garage, use a plug-in version. If outside, which is what I have to do, use the solar version. Works great! It only takes a few minutes to hook it up and you don't have to worry when you return.
Yep , I keep mine on the battery tender plus with a few others I don't drive daily. These vehicles have too much stuff going on constantly drawing juice from the battery.

These are more accurate #'s . I measured mine after taking it off the tender
I just know 12 volts usually won't start a vehicle 🤠

I charged the battery all night long. The battery charger now shows 13.9v, 14v, but there is no change in the confused starting procedure. The "parade" of messages continues with no ignition.
I guess I'll just have to have her towed to the dealership.

The last thing that I would do before calling the tow would be to disconnect the negative battery terminal for about 10 minutes and see if a " turning it off and back on again" does its magic..

Left my '22 Wildtrak in the garage for a week, when I came back, the ignition was unresponsive and several of the function warnings scrolled across the dashboard screen. I disconnected the battery and reconnected it with no change to the problem. Anyone else ever have this issue?
Hello there. Can you please send over a private message with your VIN and the name/location of your local Ford dealer? I would like to take a closer look at your Bronco's loss of power issues.

Heat can kill a battery. I've had car batteries go bad in August in Texas maybe three times last 20 years? Once couple years back, Autozone replaced it because it was only two years old.
I have had 2 battery failures in heat, never had one in the cold.

This battery is apparently ok. It's charged up to 14v now. When I push the ignition button, nothing happens except what I've described. Weird and frustrating.

Well that is certainly a conundrum. Not even a warning on the dash like, keyfob not detected??? That is very strange. I would say it needs to go to the dealer. Let them figure out WTF is going on. :(

Jeff,
Did you ever actually try to jump start it from either a battery/starter or vehicle?
Batteries can have a bad cell and still show "charged" but have no capacity to start the vehicle.
Just my 2cents.

I did try to start it by jumping it from my F-150. Left my truck running for maybe 20 minutes and then nothing from the ignition. So I'm beginning to think it's something like a short in the ignition or something weird going on with the computer.
