I like that idea!!! my last off-roader had a carb and no computer and ran fine with a low battery so this beast is a new world for me.
If I were to disconnect the battery for say 3 weeks. Is there anything that is going to have issues with that in the Broncos computer brain? it doesn’t try to do status checks of it’s systems on some schedule does it?
The Bronco's computer is the new Sync 4 so I can't really say for sure if anything will have an issue. I have disconnected mine a few times now to work on it and no issues. I have been doing it for years and never an issue. Hell in the early EEC days that was the thing to do. It would let the computer "forget" how it was running and would default to the "base" tune. My Stangs always ran better that way. Like it is always in "baby" mode. Back to the Bronc, I don't see why there would be a problem, it would just be "off the radar", it (the Bronc) would just not communicate with big brother. When power is reconnected, it would "link up" with big brother and all would be well again. I have never seen anything from Ford saying DO NOT disconnect the battery, so I say game on. Makes for a good theft deterrent as well.
