I have always enjoyed the idea of designing parts and modifying vehicles in a fashion that is considered OEM+. Build on what you already love without going too far, but make it your own. The factory trail sights are a cool concept, and for those that like it, I developed the Everest to improve that concept.
.
The Everest will be CNC cut from an appropriate alloy once settled on. With a slightly taller height it accentuates the existing trail sight without being an obstruction. A dimpled hexagon inside/outside face provides increased aesthetics with added aerodynamic efficiency. A larger/higher opening allows for easier attachment and the ability to use smaller carabiners. Four tapped forward facing counter sunk holes allows for adjustable mounting of accessories. You could even bolt in custom colored flush mounting hardware for pure design flare.
.
The Everest does not increase the factory load rating as it will still be using the OEM mounting location and hardware, but definitely provides a level of cool and functionality.
.
I will be 3D printing a sample piece over the weekend. Planning to have some installed pics next week. Let me know what you guys think.

Looks good, but I did have to chuckle at "...with added aerodynamic efficiency". I mean, as someone on here so eloquently described the Bronco as a rolling refrigerator, I'm wondering how much better my fuel efficiency will be. :)

Impressive modeling and those mounting holes are a no brainer, good idea!

Ooof the cost of machining all those hexes... $$$

I do like. Assuming I could mount a gmrs antenna to one of the 4 or 8 total thread holes. Leave the antenna cable under the hood and with enough slack to pull out under the front of the hood or a channel in this trail sight and hookup.

Assuming you will have or have a mount in mind to point us too.

Did you ever get a prototype of these? Following both your designs! Keep at it!

Oh I know. We will see if those make it through to production.

I don’t have a specific mount in mind yet, but the thought was to build in the capabilities

I am 3D printing this weekend. Should have one test fitted next week if all goes well.

Are you crazy!? Their claimed aerodynamic features might just be enough to propel the bronco past an unsuspecting Ferrari. Who needs Sport mode when you don these high speed sights!!!! 😀
