I have only had my 24 Badlands a little over a week and find the exhaust is pretty quite until I step on it some. I know Ford has added artificial interior exhaust sound to some of their vehicles. Is Bronco one that has that? I hope not, I want to hear the real exhaust note not some artificial sound.

I added a Fast Intentions axle back exhaust on mine and it helps it sound better. It’s not a v8, never will be but I don’t think it sounds too bad for a 6

Right now. I don't plan to get an after market exhaust. If what I am hearing is the real exhaust, that is fine with me.

I just have the standard sound system in my Bronco. I didn't even know a Bang & Olufsen sound system was available for the Bronco. So does that mean I don't have fake engine noise?

All 2024 Badlands to my knowledge have the fake engine noise. My Badlands has it too. if it’s stock and sounds like a hot rod, it has the fake exhaust noise pumped in.

My stock base manual 2.3L exhaust is very quiet. So much so that I'm giving some thought to a mild aftermarket exhaust, to better hear what the engine is doing for shifting, and to clear up some space behind the rear axle.

You realllly don't want to hear what the ecoboost actually sounds like 😆

I refered to my first two raptors as electric lawnmowers. That is that they sounded like after turning off the fake engine noise with forscan. Current rappy isn't bad because I was able to use forscan to make it always start in quiet mode.

Maybe it's because my Bronco doesn't have the sound reduction mat underside of the hood, or because mice ate most of the sound reducing foam from around the fuel distributor, but my 2.3L is the nosiest clattering engine I've ever owned. Mated to the manual trans I'm fine with the power, but would like a bit more exhaust sound to judge hearing wise where the revs are at.

Correct.

All 2024 Broncos have it. For 2021-2023, only the Lux-packaged Broncos have it.

Well that sucks. I suspected that the first time I stomped on it a little. Now, I have to purchase Forscan to eliminate that fake sound.

Thanks for clearing that up.

If you like the sound and can't tell if it's real or enhanced Ford did a good job. Might as well leave it.

Actually, I don't like the sound and knowing it is fake makes me dislike it more. Some may like the fake noise, I don't see any reason for it. If I want to hear the exhaust, I will install an after market system and listen to the real thing.

My 2023 Mid package Wildtrak - with a major aftermarket audio system upgrade - had it. Sounded like heavy breathing out of my sub every time the right pedal mashed down. Probably because of my DSP and crossovers. Anyway after all other necessary Forscan audio mods, I did FENG last week - using the info you and a few others posted, which worked perfect. I switched it off then on then off again - then listened each time - just to make sure.

My 2.7 is modified end to end so its exhaust sound matches the performance which is great. The last step in that was an AFE cat-back, and replacing that kit’s puny muffler with the Roush.

I discovered something about the fake exhaust noise. If I put the GOAT selector in ECO mode the obnoxious fake exhaust sound goes away or at least is minimized. I don't particularly care for the shift strategy, but not having to listen to the fake exhaust it worth putting up with it. Plus, I do get a little better gas mileage.

You can turn this off in forscan… the fake engine noise is very noticeable.
