If it is enabled in my ‘24 Big Bend 2.3 it is very subtle.

Is the ACM the factory B&O amp mounted to the sub? If so, that explains why I don't hear the engine sound with my audio upgrades, I replaced that amp with the Zen A2B module. My wife's HLE, we noticed immediately the engine is louder than mine, going to check that today with forscin!
B&O has two components:
  • ACM - Has the receiver, radio tuner, etc. Located up front behind the HVAC controls. Also acts as the amp for 3 of the speakers.
  • DSP - In the back mounted by the sub. Handles all of the signal processing. Is also the amp for the other 5 speakers.
The two are connected with a digital cable (A2B protocol).

Ford should make an update available where you can select between the soothing engine sounds of a diesel locomotive, top fuel dragster, Ferrari F12, etc.
I rented a 2024 Nissan Rogue on a recent business trip, and the subtle fake sounds coming from the speakers sounded like either a V12 racecar engine or a sportbike. (It has a 1.5L three cylinder engine, so maybe the sportbike-like sounds makes a little bit of sense.)

Anyway, I really appreciate the post @gbub . I've looked for a method to disable this before but somehow missed a couple of posts from years past. Yours made it simple to see the answer. And now I like my Bronco a LOT more without the fake engine sounds!

To me, the sound of the engine is still there and hasn't really changed...it's just not being reproduced and amplified through the sound system. It makes me wonder if this is of the type of ESE system that uses a transducer under the hood somewhere in order to generate the sound.

I finally just got around to making this FORScan change...unfortunately, I really can't tell the difference. Maybe the cargo area itself just amplifies the AWE exhaust sound.

Hi. I’m new to the Ford Bronco. Hate the fake engine noise. Can you please tell me the Forscan module and code that you changed? All I could find in search was the ACM module and 727-01-01. Not sure if that’s the current one and it doesn’t show in the current google doc here at all. Thanks, Mark

Yes, all the information you need is in my first post. Here is a copy and paste of that information.
FORScan in the "As Built" ACM module under 727-01-01. The fix is xxxx-xxxx-0xxx. 1 is ESE on and 0 is ESE off.

The code just needs to change from 1 to 0 in the position I show the 0. Make sure you do all the save stuff and turning the ignition off and on to complete the change.

After you make a character change and “write” it, you’re prompted to turn off and turn on the ignition then hit “ok”. Doesn’t toggling the ignition in this step disconnect Fordscan from the vehicle? Do you toggle off and on then hit the “ok” button, or it doesn’t matter?

Thanks for this, my Wildtrak doesn’t sound like there’s a Harley in the cargo anymore in Sport mode. The thing is already loud enough from wind noise. Only hiccup was when I first enabled it, parking sensor and hands on steering alerts were coming from the in-dash speaker only and sounded a lot different, but that might’ve just been a by product of low battery after messing with forscan for 30 minutes. Those issues went away the next day.

I’m firmly in the minority. I don’t really mind it and sometimes I enjoy it.

Funny thing I owned a 22’ BB and traded it in for a lux BL. I was like how does this engine sound so much better than the BB. A while later one of these threads provided me the answer.

At least with Forscan we have a choice if we want the 'enhanced' sound or not. I am sure there are other means to eliminate it also. I am so much happier without it.
