FE or another trim

If the orders are going to be produced based on reservation, more or less, what guarantees you a FE? If you can change your trim, why can't someone with an earlier reservation get your FE? What guarantees you an FE if trims can be changed at the time of order, not based on trim reserved?

The only way you’re guaranteed a First Edition model is if you were one of the 7,000 able to reserve one. I’m not sure what Ford is going to do with the reserved ones that don’t go through. They haven’t announced that dilemma issue.

But we don't have to order the trim level we reserved, so what's to stop the dealer from putting in a FE at the time of conversion and seeing if it goes through.

My dealer just called me to setup an appt to input my order. They informed me that Ford will not allow change trim changes - has this changed as it's different to what others are reporting.

You can downgrade from an FE to another trim (in theory, but other threads report an ongoing "glitch"), but you can't move up to an FE from another trim. Ford knows which reservation numbers are allocated to the 7,000 FE's.
