I saw a thread about this issue a while back, but I couldn't find it. This is more annoying than anything, but was just curious if anyone else had this issue.

When using the lever lock on the gas handle to refill, it constantly will pop and stop refilling. I've tried this at a few different gas stations with different handles and it still will not hold.

My theory is it has something to do with the Easy Fill Nozzle on the gas tank that causes it to keep popping like it's finished.

Has anyone else dealt with this issue? Like I said, it's just more so annoying. When its really cold out, I really don't like having to stand there and hold the handle. For reference, its the "Operating Lever Trigger" that I'm referencing.

Mine doesnā€™t do that, second vehicle with easy fill. You have a restriction in the fill tube. Try locking it partially depressed. Will take longer but you can sit in your car.

Sounds good, I'll try this tip. Thanks!

if it doesn't stay latched, then you need to readjust.

Iā€™m no expert but the pump nozzle has one or more small holes up from the fill end that use pressure differential to hold the lever mechanism. If the hole(s) are drawing fuel instead of fumes due to either splash back or other obstruction then you lose the pressure differential and the nozzle senses ā€œfullā€ and shuts off.

You might have a mis-fitted ā€œeasy fillā€ sleeve or something obstructing the flow causing splash back or otherwise obstructing the sensor holes not allowing the nozzle to work.

You might try fiddling with how far in, you place the nozzle or the angle and see if it works.

Maybe the dealer can check the sleeve thing or replace it.

As I said, Iā€™m no expert so hopefully someone here can elaborate or correct me.

Good luck

Mine did that on last fill up but never did previously. I don't drive it often, 3500 miles in almost 2 years... so that tank was actually November of last year, lol. I'm due up for gas my next drive and will test again.

Mine has only done this at 1 gas station. I rotated the nozzle upside down and it worked.

Seems to be more of an issue at certain gas stations, vs. with the vehicle itself. It is annoying when it doesn't work.

Have not experienced this; about 11 months of ownership at this point. Just a data point.

This^
Mine does this at a few pumps at the gas station I usually stop at. I just avoid those certain pumps and all the others work perfectly fine.

Over two years of ownership and over 18,000 miles and I don't recall this happening more than once.

I usually set it on the first click, slower fill but it doesnā€™t shut off prematurely. Carryover from a previous car that didnā€™t like it full blast either.
