I know lots of people are whining over the black, because their little bums get warm, but at least it's pretty neutral and not as polarizing visually.

I can live with a toasted bun for the sake of my interior not looking like a choked-out Smurf.

I think black and charcoal would look sophisticated as hell for your corporate job, but still give off an off-roading vibe from matching the naturally occurring elements. I just don't know why the "in" thing lately is to have super contrasting colors in an interior rather than a matching monochromatic look. But hey, I get it, everyone's got a taste. I'm just less flashy than others.

THEORY: I'm starting to wonder if Ford's obsession with blue is simply because Ford's brand color is blue. Likely, if you go to their corporate offices, blue is everywhere. It's probably a pride thing. They make special edition/expensive things with blue as a sort of trademark, or, as an employee, they're like, "This is how I'd make it for myself!"

But they fail to realize is that they live/breathe the Ford brand and it's a huge part of their lives. Not seeing their bias, they design what they'd like to see, rather than what the customer wants. That's why there are survey groups, sample sizes, etc. The reaction they got from their pre-production shots should tell them what will sell.

Again, this is assumption and conjecture. But if you look at other car brands, they're infinitely less tied to color than Ford is, but also, if you look at other vehicle brands/logos, how many of them have a dedicated color at all... most are neutral, single-color, metal, etc.

Haha. I agree with ya' man. But I'm also not just talking about the Bronco. With all the Raptor seats, the F150 interiors, etc etc... lotta blue on Special Edition/Expensive things.

But yes, the fact there's no blue exterior for a First Edition that has a blue interior is fuuuuucking hilarious to me.

I'll post pics of my FE Sport interior (hopefully in December). Any bets we're not all collectively throwing up at the same time after looking at the Navy Pier? Fingers crossed we don't empty our stomach contents, LOL.

I’m still betting on three color options:

Shit brown/black
Blue death
Grey/White

Not really liking any of the 3 but more options is better than none.

First, I am a little disappointed to read all the posts about down grading. Why reserve it and deprive others if you had no intention to buy? I reserved the FE because I keep vehicles until the doors fall off. My 2008 Hummer H3 Alpha has 225k miles. So I like to get as much as I can afford at the time of purchase (same for our 2005 and 2006 MINIs JCW).

My wife actually reserved the FE and we are still undecided on the final color because we want to see the cyber orange in person.

I read this comment no less than six times to try to understand what point you were trying to make.

I'm going to take it down in bullets to make it very simple:

1. We did not reserve knowing there would be so many restrictions and lack of options for the top trim. If anything, we could have safely assumed that, by paying more, we'd have several.
2. Our wanting to downgrade is to get a vehicle we are proud of, especially at the $60k+ price point.
3. Being proud of said vehicle will guarantee us to keep it for longer. Buying a vehicle we are not proud of would be idiotic unless it was cheap or used. Neither is the case here.
4. As a total side-bar, I've publicly posted that I keep my vehicles until they fall apart as well. So whichever I get, I'm keeping it for life. But I'd rather buy something I like. If you're content with am ugly vehicle and paying $60k for it, be my guest.

So what was your point here?

There’s a difference between downgrading and having a back-up plan. I made the 3500 cut-off with every intention of buying an FE.

Yep. My backup plan is to downgrade. If they give more exterior and interior option, I'll be a proud FE owner.

But the fact a maxed out Badlands has everything a FE does, but has more options, it just defies logic to get a FE unless you love the few options provided. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Same here. I spent the first 2 hours after the reveal hitting refresh and finally got a FE at 10:15pm. THEN I looked at the specs of everything. Only 4 colors available, no 7-speed manual, possible limited interior, etc, so I reserved a Badlands the next morning. I also don't like the graphics on the FE.

I still don't know what I am going to do. A Cyber Orange BL with a 2.3T/7M, 33's, vinyl seats and that 2-tone tan interior may be so much fun.

However, I don't plan on driving it in the winter and I want to tow a 3,000 pound trailer, so a 2.7TT/10A FE with 35's, trail turn, 1 pedal drive will be amazing. (Just thinking the automatic will make towing easier, but should be no problem with the 7-speed)

Hopefully something between now and December tips the scales one way or the other.

I don't know why you would be disappointed in people having a back-up plan and considering the best value for their money. It kind of reminds me of when everyone tried to convince me that I should like "New Coke" after all the hype and excitement. Well, I didn't, so I didn't buy it. My money, my hard work, my choice. No shame in that.

Well, I am not a fan of the Blue Interior. It is bad enough that they are limiting my exterior color choices, but then forcing me to match it with an interior that is not something I love is a real issue. WHY? Because a couple of fancy decals and pre-selected options that I can get on the Badlands does not match with me having to spend another $2K to fix an interior I don't like.

I want a FE. I love the package. That said, I am buying it sight unseen and paying a pretty hefty premium. Let's be real, it is $70K MINIMUM for a four-door off the lot. That s a lot of money and I could get a lot of other vehicles for that price. I better LOVE it. I love Broncos, I want a Bronco, but it will be my Bronco, not Ford's.

So it is simple. I need to decide if I can tolerate the interior until I can fix it or move to a Badlands and get what I want. I really don't know yet. The configuration tool and the costs in that tool will tell me.

I personally have high hopes that Ford is listening and hearing enough of us say we don't want to settle. We will see. I am getting a Bronco. But I am getting a Bronco I love, not one that is labeled "New Coke" but leaves a nasty taste in my mouth.
