1st to 15K Miles in BB?
Hello all,
Reached 15,000 on the odometer earlier this week. It's been a blast so far.
Just thought I'd give a report on my Bronco experience so far.
Purchased an abandoned BB order from my local dealer at MSRP took delivery 7/21/2021
2.3 AT BB with Tow & Sig Lighting, 4 Door, Soft Top, A51
I like almost everything about the vehicle.
It's been my DD with a few fun road trips mixed in there.
Ride quality is really good, it feels nimble and has plenty of power.
I've driven a lot on back roads, rough gravel and unimproved roads.
Rides really well and handles rough roads great. View from cab is like a pick up truck.
I live in a hilly / mountainous area and the 10 Speed AT actually does a really good job.
Over my 15K I've averaged 18-19 MPG
I have broken 20 MPG a few tanks. Best I have gotten is 22.6 MPG on a tank
The computer consistently exaggerates MPG by about 1 MPG
Road tripped over 2K round trip from home to:
Gunstock, NH - Off-Rodeo / Mt. Washington, NH / Popham Beach, Maine
Also to Fort Knox, KY
for my daughter's graduation from Army advanced officer training camp
and trips to New River Gorge National Park, WV
Snoeshoe Mountain Resort, WV
Vehicle Likes:
Awesome good looks on exterior, the A51 wasn't my 1st choice but it really is a great color in person.
Love the Signature Lightning.
Love the Convertible aspect of the vehicle. It's why I purchased.
Originally ordered a MIC but when I got the BB, the softie won me over
yeah the side rear windows look funky.... but it's so easy to flip the top back
the convenience of the soft top wins.
I also have had the doors off a couple of times and it's really a fun vehicle in that setup.
I know people complain about the gauges, I actually really like them, both the 8" screen with Apple Car play,
and the instrument cluster. I like the analog speedo. I mean the vehicle is going for a retro look so you have to have the
analog speedometer. The "Fish tank" gauge setup on the tach doesn't bother me at all. It took less than a week to get used to it. I like straight forward gauges I leave both screens on the calm screen setting for the most part.
Dislikes:
Very few.
Don't like the Auto Stop / Idle Feature. I habitually hit the start engine, then turn off this feature immediately.
Rear plastic side walls in cargo area is quite flimsy.
Wish it had adaptive cruise, but not worth going up to Lux for that.
Wish I had the mid package mainly just for the heated seats, so I could put top down more.
Bought some heated seat covers on Amazon these take care of this.
Overall the Bronco is a great looking, fun vehicle, that is worth a wait.
Hope everyone gets their new Bronco soon!
