MPG: OBX Bronco gets 20mpg (19.9) in first 6,000 miles

I've got a BD, 2.7, 10 spd, all that. Stock General GRabbers, non-squatch....

And I'm averaging close to OP's....about 19.6 over 5k miles. Hwy is much higher....I've been experimenting with the different GOAT modes, Sport actually costs me 1-2 mpg, down to 17-18....Eco keeps me near 20 overall. Now using Normal to see what it does.

Not exactly sure what happened… I think the stars were aligned on my last trip North…. Almost think if temp, wind and your foot on the pedal is at peak performance gas mileage can be very favorable.

I took a 220 mile trip, half of trip around 72 mph. And the other half at 57 mph.

I end up with mpg@ 25. It was crazy on the way home it was about 23mpg

This is with 2.7 Badlands Sasquatch with roof rack.

Trip to Badlands and back was about 20mpg... I expected 17mpg as stated... I have been shocked that I have done better than the 17mpg.

My SAS OBX has been stuck right at 16.3 MPG for a few months, and that’s averaged since it arrived in May. Drive mostly city, short trips, but also a few California Big Bear Lake and Flagstaff/Sedona trips with some off-road. Mostly drive in Normal or Sport.

Thanks. Same numbers now, November of 2022. At 21,347 miles, my non-SAS OBX with the 4.27 axle has averaged 20 mpg on the car computer, and 20.2 mpg over 2,510 miles on my current trip from Charleston, SC to Austin TX Off-Rodeo.

Great info! Did you notice a break-in period with lower MPGs? I have been mainly commuting interstate 70-75 MPH and averaging 17.8. OBX, non-SAS with 2.7. 780 total miles.

I didn't notice a break in period. The car is geared so that, from 65mph and up, the faster I go, the worse the mpg.

2 door manual badlands non SAS I’ve got just under 3k mikes and have been averaging 20MPG so far . That’s a lot of highway miles.
