Wow, I didn't know that. I thought I was good to go. Luckily, I was able to mount all my RVI parts and avoid the fuse box cover. Although this post was quite upsetting to me, I'm glad I read it. Does anyone know if pulling those fuses still allows the Bronco lights and other functions to work? It's crazy that I went out of my way to put the RVI equipment on a breaker just so I wouldn't have to pull fuses, but now I still have to. You would think that Ford could have figured out a better way. Thanks for the responses and explanation.

The two fuses you remove are 60 amp each that go the the Electronic Brake Boost system. At first I thought they could be 20 or 30 amp and I could install a switch. But for 60 amp fuses it is not really doable without cutting into the fuse box and voiding warranty.
The Ford engineers provided software patch that has been installed, but the Ford lawyers are not yet convinced it fixes the problem. :(

Do the other systems on the Bronco work when the fuses are removed? I mean things like the dash lights and parking lights?

Removing the fuses does not effect any other electronics.

Again, my onboard manual instructions on my ‘25 Badlands doe not require pulling fuses. I have flat towed it twice 250 miles each way without any issue. Just an FYI.

I still haven't accessed the onboard manual. I'm going to check that out. Thanks

We just towed our 2023 Outer Banks over 5000 miles without pulling fuses but If you feel safer, go ahead. I'm not telling you not to.

We had a 2023 OB also and never pulled fuses and went over 40K miles during 3 year lease.

2024 and older do not need fuses pulled.
2025 and 2026 need fuses pulled. The printed user manual and the PDF are old and out of date. Ford says go to corp site and read the HTML version which is the latest version with updates.
ee link below for 2025 HTML user manual that indicates fuses must be pulled.

The way that they are describing the supplemental braking system is not related to a DEMCO AF1. Look at the #14 (installation) and the #1 Removal of braking system statements. Our AF1 Is connected to the EBB and as I stated, we’ve towed over 500 miles with no issue.

Ford may need to update their HTML manual to reflect other supplemental braking systems.

My onboard manual also states to pull the fuses (2026). How does the AF1 apply the brakes? Not sure why one would need it and the other wouldn't?

It works off of the Motorhomes air brake system. It has a connection that ties into the EBB. When installed, they said they had to purchase a T fitting. I didn’t watch them install it, I’m just going on what they told me.

I also use AF1 braking system. I am not the expert here, but was told that the new EBB could wake up and apply the brakes intermittently. They tried software update, but not sure it fixes the problem. It is rare and does not occur often, but when it does, not good. Maybe more of legal issue, if it happens and no fuses pulled, Ford will not cover it.

I’m sure Ford will do anything it can to not cover an issue, that with a software fix, shouldn’t be an issue at all.

I've decided to live on the edge and not pull fuses. I mounted the AF1 on top of the fuse box with velcro, and it can just be laid aside.

As bad as the idea of pulling fuses is, the timeout you're supposed to wait for it to enter sleepy mode is a PITA as well.

I'm wondering now, why not just disconnect the battery totally? There's no draw, tail lights are powered by the coach, EBB is in-op anyway if we pull the fuses...
