A squirt of Joy dishwashing liquid in a spray bottle full of water goes a long way. Get a quality rubber squeegie. Take your time. Mark your corners or starting point, and your sides with some grease pencil or tape. Generously spray the surface and the back of the decal as you peel it so it doesn't stick to itself or get trash/bugs in it.
Get it all good and flat with no bubbles and let it sit for about 5 minutes in the summer heat, 20 minutes in the winter. Peel slowly the release paper at a@ 30 degree angle. 90 degrees can lift the decal or tear a corner easily.
After peeling, rub over it with a microfiber towel, looking for bubbles. Gently prick the bubble with a needle and work the liquid/air out with your finger (covered with the towel).
Gentle heat helps wrap it around corners and inside radiuses easier.
I've put on thousands of decals in my day, some as large as the hood bird on the 70's T/A's.
Patience is key.
Get you some sort of cheap practice decal and play with it, that way you are comfortable doing it with what matters later.
