Looks like Cooper Tires will now be a part of Goodyear. Nor sure this is a good or bad thing. I’m sure job losses will be involved. So, that part is sad.

Brands of both companies:
Goodyear
Kelly
Fulda
Sava
Dunlop
Cooper
Mickey Thompson
Dick Cepek

Wonder if they will remain being built in the US?

After well over 30 yrs in the commercial tire businesses Goodyear buying Cooper tire is NOT a good thing ... unless upper management in Goodyear is open minded. What are the chances of that.

I don’t have a problem with my Goodyear MTR’s w/ Kevlar. I’m on my second set and they’ve been great for a pretty aggressive tire. I run them on my JKU which is a daily driver and sees tons of snow here in Michigan.

I’ve never run Cooper’s and don’t know much about them, but I’ve heard good things about Mickey Thompson’s mud terrains on some of the Jeep forums.

If Cooper is the superior brand, I hope this elevates Goodyear rather than Cooper being dragged down.

I've run Goodyear and Cooper, and don't buy either anymore, so this isn't a big deal to me. Cooper makes some "house brands" for other companies, and that's probably going to impact folks that buy the slightly less expensive tires, maybe.

It's really not a big deal; a mediocre company bought another mediocre company so they could corner more of the mediocre market.

That Sucks. Cooper was the last 100% made in USA manufacturer. Last time I got Goodyears they were made in Turkey.

Maybe goodyear is worried a trade war with China will cut off their supply.
