My condolences to the Albert's family as well as the Granger family. I never met Albert and only spoke to him a couple of times on the phone. Albert is the reason I am buying my Broncos from Granger. This news has stopped me in my tracks from disbelief.

God speed Albert.

Only spoke to Albert 3 times. The first time he said to call him, and when I did, he said he was in the hospital and couldn't talk for long. I was shocked he would even answer, but he would not get off the line until he explained the process of ordering. Each time I spoke with Albert, I felt like he focused only on me and what my concern happened to be. Albert was truly a concerned and a classy gentleman. I will miss meeting him.

Thank you Albert.

Although I only spoke with Albert on a few occasions, his passion, knowledge, and professionalism was second to none. I am so saddened by this terrible news. Albert was always upfront, honest, personable, and willing to help. Loved speaking with him over the phone and I wish I had the honor of meeting him.

May he rest in peace. All my best to his family and the entire Granger family. There will be none other like Albert Schmitz. He was the REAL real rockstar.

WHAT??? Noooooooo 😭😭😭 We had so many great conversations personally on here in private PM about Colorado and the Bronco and everything else. I wanted to drive there just because I was so looking forward to meeting him. My heart is straight up broken. 😞

He made my wife’s birthday. This sucks.

I guess we all knew Albert was pretty sick, but no one expected this. Not this soon.

I spoke with him several times on the phone and he was the most upbeat, positive guy I've ever had the pleasure of speaking with. He took care of my order through several changes and never complained once. He seemed to revel in just doing his best and making people happy.

I know that I and a number of other people in the Colorado group sent Albert get well cards over the last few months, and I hope he found a little joy in our sentiments. We really did care about him - really were concerned for his health and well-being. We were all hoping for the best. I know I was secretly hoping he'd make a guest appearance at one of the Colorado Bronco deliveries. He kept my spirits up amid the emotional roller coaster of the whole process of buying a Bronco and I was looking forward to thanking him personally. We even talked about making him an honorary Coloradan.

RIP, Albert. You were one in a million, not only among car dealers, but among humans. You will be sorely missed on this forum. I cannot imagine the void you've left among your family and friends there in Granger, Iowa.

It is with a heavy heart that I must announce the passing of Albert Schmitz (Granger Ford). Albert was instrumental in getting us involved with this forum, a 25+ year employee, father, husband and friend.

Albert professed to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. While broncos are great, I believe Albert would rather see you in heaven someday than deliver your Bronco to you here on earth.

He leaves big shoes to fill and Sean and Amanda on our staff will do their best to fulfill our obligations to the Bronco community.

His impact cannot be understated for our store. My first interactions with Albert were as a 14 year old working in our detail shop and ended with me as the dealer principal and him as my employee. The 20 years in-between have been great, both learning a lot from each other.

We appreciate your thoughts and prayers for his family and co-workers.
