I just removed the beauty rings from all the wheels to get them powder coated. Two of the wheels are black under the rings, and three are silver. Did we just get some kind of Frankenstein Bronco?

Has anyone seen this before or know what's going on?

Mostly in threads related to removing the rings or converting to true beadlocks. Been mentioned and questioned by many. No rhyme or reason as to why.

I read a bunch of threads related to removing the rings, and all the possible cross-threading issues, but didn't run into that. Thanks. I'll be at the dealer tomorrow and I'll ask them, though I doubt they'll have a clue.

How did your removal go? Any issues with removing the bolts?

No issues. I started them all by hand and backed them out until they were clearly loose. Then I used my impact driver to remove them the rest of the way...really slowly. I'll blow the holes out and use a wire brush on the screws to try to get rid of some of the thread locker before I put them back in.🤞

Chaulk it up to supply chain constraints andFord trying to deliver something … chips, no chips, different wheels, etc.

Hopefully tires were all the same size … 😂

Yes, luckily the tires are all the same size. (y)

I asked at the dealer today. Nobody had a clue, as expected.

Rings are in for powder coating. It's supposed to take 1-2 weeks, so that's how long the wheels will look mismatched.
