It's actually in MD so about a 4.5 hour drive. I have family near there so it worked out for me. There was a group deal for the forum but I think there was a December cutoff for it. I'll check into it.

I'm looking to move my 7/14 reservation from Capital Ford. Looks like my best option so far is Stevens Auto Center up in WV and don't mind the 5hr drive. However, I would like to hear what dealership you are referring to that is up the coast and the deal they are offering? I'd rather make a drive to the OBX instead of WV if the difference is minimal. I think all the Triangle Ford dealers are in cahoots with each other on the MSRP pricing.
If you transfer to Stephens you probably have to wait until the '22 MY. John from Stephens posted that the bulk of their allocations will go to July 13th timestamps. FYI only

I appreciate the comment but with the options I want it will probably push it to '22 anyway and I'd rather wait instead of paying MSRP for anything.

Is Steven's charging anything other than the $100 deposit? I haven't put in my oder yet cause I don't need it till late 2022. Also, I don't understand your comment about allocations moving to July 13th time stamps.

I am here on the cost, dealers here are MSRP plus Admin fee, which is $630 or higher. I switched to Steven's back in early Nov and have not looked back since. Going to Stephens will save me $3200.00, to me that a bunch more than a little savings.

What he is saying is that the predicted 2021 allocations that Stephens will get will probably be taken by people with a July 13 time stamp.

I didn't say moving. In a post from Stephens they said the bulk of their allocations will be to those who made a reservation on July 13th. Their initial allocation is 70. They will probably convert the majority of their orders regardless of timestamp and possibly receive more allocations. Hopefully some early July 14th reservations will get a '21 MY. Yes it's still $100 only.

Sure, but why would the dealer do this? There are more RSVPs than there are purchase slots? There is zero incentive for them to lower their prices. To be honest, I would pay a little more to buy from the dealer in my town, 5 min from my house. Keep that money local and also make my transaction more convenient. That's just me though.
What if I don’t mind waiting for MY 2022? The dealers reason for not budging is supply and demand. Well guess what... Ford is still accepting reservations to my knowledge. They will build you a bronco. It probably won’t be a MY 2021, but you will get a Bronco. As for paying more for conscience, that truly is a personal decision. I view it as greed personally. It’s barely a MY 2021 at this point, if you get it in 2021. You are taking the quick hit on depreciation. One I don’t think the consumer should take, since it’s not the consumers fault.

Nice. I placed my order today. The dealership was easy to work with, but still seemed like they we're figuring things out.

Cheers
hopefully - we will see I am working with the fleet side of the house, we shall see if X-plan pans out

To each their own. It was that blatant lie paired with MSRP and a high doc fee that made my decision. I found a great dealer that is very transparent and charging under MSRP. It's a few hours up the coast so it will be a nice long weekend at the beach when we go to pick it up. ?
I hear you. I didn't take it as a lie as they were upfront with me about it and indicated it was a dealership policy.

I am not saying you won't find somebody who will sell for less, my point is, many don't have to. There are more people wanting to buy than available stock, at least for 2021 and maybe for 2022. In the triangle area, they don't need to discount anything to sell these cars. In WV, rural NC or other places...maybe they need to discount them to attract buyers from hours away.

The notion of depreciation on a 2021 vs a 2022 is a real concept, but we don't know practical impact on these cars for a couple years.

To be honest, I hate the car buying process. I will buy a car once every 10 years and I never enjoy it. Some people enjoy the idea of finding the best "deal" and will travel all over the place to get that deal, which is fine, and am just not that person. Tell me the price. If I think it is fair, I will buy it. If not, I won't.

@L8apex Let me know how your appointment goes today to place your order. My reservation is currently there as well. I'm curious what your timestamp was that you were already #24 that early!
Experience was just OK. Tyler was out of office, which was a surprise since I thought I was sitting down with him. His replacement was not as knowledgeable about the process, so had to help him out a bit.

Going to call Tyler today just to make sure we're all good. Did notice they had an $800 doc fee, doesn't apply to me (A-plan) but something to be on the lookout for.

I know I've seen some others from NC in various threads. I'm in the Raleigh/Durham area and have reserved a 2 door OBX at Crossroads Wake Forest.

Where are you in NC, what are you getting and what dealership have you reserved with?
What have you heard in communication from this dealer. I stated a chat lady night with them and Richie stated MSRP. I asked them to match other dealers 3% under invoice and will see what the response is.

MSRP plus $699 doc fee plus $59 electronic filing fee plus mandatory $497 dealer installed surface protection package. I switched dealers to one out of state.

Good luck!
