I just finished installing the Key200.4 amp into my 2023 Wildtrack. It does sound a lot better. Now it needs a sub.
I had someone Forscan the rear speakers to (passenger = SPEAKER, Driver = SPEAKER + SUB).

This means I should be able to tap the factory subwoofer plug for a signal, and I ran an additional power wire to the back while running the power wire for the KEY200.4 amp.

It seems the are 3 choices (in no particular order):

A) a subwoofer amp and modify the OEM enclosure to fit an 8" sub.

B) a subwoofer amp and use a 10" down fire box (this could be handy if I got someone to build me a little box the same size as the sub box and I could through recovery strap / shackle / air down kit / etc in there).

C) a self contained 10" powered subwoofer (not as much bass - i know), simplest option (except for the mounting).

I'll take any ideas you've got on this. I'd love to see some mounting ideas for the powered sub. Somewhere I saw a picture of one mounted to the back of the rear seats, but I have not been able to find it again. Under the rear seats is just not an option. The tailgate might work if I could figure out how to get a piece of 1/2" carpeted plywood to mount to the tailgate. A solution like the SSV mount could work if anyone has seen just the mounting hardware.

Have you seen the Stinger box?

When it comes to subs - the biggest question is are you willing to give up cargo space and/or accept visibility? For example: People who run with the top down or loaded with overland gear may not want a sub box hanging out in the back. Then the second question is budget

Im in the diy camp here. The factory sub wasn't doing it for me and I've tried adding a better sub to a factory enclosure in a previous vehicle with subpar results.

I went more towards the extreme end, but there are a lot of options between this 18" in a ported box doing 142.7 db

And this with a more powerful sub in it.

What subwoofer setups have you had previously?
I had a Jeep before my Bronco and had a single 10" Kicker L7S that was decent with the top on. I built a simple ported box that mounted to the swing gate and was happy with that for quite a while. It's probably enough for most people.

For the Bronco, I would actually think about building a box that takes up most of the rear cargo area, but that is only 8 or 10 inches tall with a pair of down firing subs. Hide the amp where the factory sub is and call it a day.

MBEnclosures on YouTube is a huge fan of 8" subs and has plenty of videos showing what a couple of 8s can do. Some L7X 8s or the new ones from B2 would be impressive and take very little room. I could probably design you something custom if you wanted.

@cmtaz Here's a link to our website with a picture of the hardware as well. It bolts right up using factory locations, so no cutting or drilling involved.

Depends on how much you value cargo area space.

I wanted to keep a stealth look and originally added a Kicker 6.75" to the factory sub box with a Kicker 500.1 amp (150 watts RMS). It is pretty good for its size, but gets drowned out with the top off. I ultimately replaced the factory box with a Gearshade 8" box and added a Audiomobile EVO 8". I now get the benefit of 300 watts RMS and it really hits hard.

That is a MONSTER sub. I'm in the subtle "fill out the bottom end" camp. A powered 10" or an amp with a down fire box 8" or 10", maybe even the ford enclosure with an 8" should do. Thank you.

I wasn’t satisfied with the compr 8” stock box mod after using it for a few months and went with the gear shade JL 10”. I already had the JL from a previous project though.
