Sharing that I found some comments on the Heretic product page that advise to mount the quad unit as far to the back as possible. For those that installed the Heretic fog lights - what placement did you find worked best for mounting the lights to the mounting bracket? Both have "slide" front to back and I was hoping to save myself some adjustments later by starting with what works best.
But would still like feedback from those that went this road how they positioned the dual lights. I went with a quad amber and 2 dual clear, thinking the clear would highlight forward and side (as a complement to my combo 20" light bar on my bumper).
Had to put a pause to my install, however, since first I had to put a coat of paint on the mounting brackets (they arrived with bare spots) and when simply attaching the duals to the mounting bracket, I had crimp failures on on four of the duals - one or both wires pulled out of the wiring ring crimps with minimal handling. Hoping to hear back from Heretic start of the week and hope to get replacement wiring pig tails asap. Hoping this isn't a sign of any other issues, I've had good luck with their light bar so far.
Heretic should include a thin something or other to hold the bolt for these in place with the square head lined up when tightening the nut when mounting to the bracket. Getting the locking nuts tightened down is a bit of a challenge without keeping the square backside of the head snug in the groove.
