So you'd like Ford to "peg it?" I'm out.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for excess but correct, Ford has provided modern capable choices: 2.3<2.7<3.0 and then finally the non-street legal DR with the Coyote if you just got to have your baja racer V8 kicks and have the dollars.Thank you. Like many in this thread, I do love the sound of a V8 but it just isn't necessary to get the power needed. Times have changed.
I had a Pontiac many many years ago with a 455 in it.I'm just going to put this on mine and see how many it confuses ...

Does this mean I lose 100 horses since the '67 only had 200 of them?
Time for the weekly old people complaining about the number of cylinders thread again huh?
I rather have a base 2 door with 3.5 EcoBoost Engine with 400 horsepower and 500 lb.-ft of torque or more..The trim level that would allow Ford to "peg it" with the Bronco brand is the iconic "Heritage Edition" fitted with the 5.0 liter V8.
Perhaps named the "Heritage 302", it would recall the signature 1969 thru 1977 Bronco powered by the 302 (5.0 liter) V8. This is the spec that brought the Bronco to the party.
Obviously, Ford has an applicable 5.0 V8 today.
I myself don't want an obnoxiously loud V8 alike any V8-powered Ram truck. The original Bronco was never about that. Rather, the V8 Bronco was perfect in the mature and subtle way it went about its business, without need to use excessive noise to attract attention. The Bronco has always been about its persona.
The 5.0L will fit nicely into the Bronco's modified T6 Ranger platform.
"Car guy" Jim Farley, what do you say ???
Yep ... it's time!Time for the weekly old people complaining about the number of cylinders thread again huh?

"Why no barebones Bronco with zero electronics at all. Why won't ford make this? This would be a goldmine!"Time for the weekly old people complaining about the number of cylinders thread again huh?
You want an ineos Grenadier. straight 6 BMW B58 with a dual clutch behind itI grew up with muscle cars and love a good 'ol American V8, but my time with Jeeps and 60's era trucks gave me a solid appreciation for a simple, torquey straight-six.
Give me an I6 in a 6G Bronco with a manual any day of the week and twice on Sunday over a V8, which would inevitably be coupled with a slushbox.
No, I don't.You want an ineos Grenadier
How about a Pontiac Aztec?No, I don't.
