Doesn't really fit the commodity guide for September.
Curious what the context and rest of that document shows.

That commodity guide from a week or so ago is about as useless as the Scheduling Window pics we saw on Friday. Three days later and there's no scheduling.

I just got off the phone with one of the plant managers. They are anticipating an air shortage and will be unable to inflate the tires so they will be sitting in the parking lot, rusting in the damp gravel until they get more air.
I heard Takata has a surplus of airbags…

Those floppy topped dealer stock Broncos are about to look pretty sparse without engines, bumpers, transfer cases, 4H/4L GOAT delete modes, front lockers, Sas, etc.,…..wonder what kind of ADM these will command?

Yes if you don't mind metal shards spraying everywhere along with the "air".

2.3L engine, 10-speed auto and the entire 4x4 system. I can only just shake my head and laugh. So basically they're going to have a hard time building anything.

Ew. Now if you have a window sticker, your parts are already set aside right?

I hate to be the one to break it to you, but due to constraints you only get 2!
Yes set aside on the parking lot for 2 months of quality checks.

I really gotta turn off the tweet notifications for the Bronco6G account. They only bring bad news, and I'm sad enough already.

I'm convinced this is why all the new F150s had rust all over the underside. I will be anxious to see how the Broncos look. A truck sitting in wet gravel fresh off the line will definitely get an undercarriage rust acceleration.

This makes sense to me. Alright get your pitchforks ready:

It's not entirely Ford's fault.

Why? Because anywhere else you look in industry, supply chains are completely FUBAR.

Doesn't matter what the market is. Doesn't matter if it's Webasto or whoever stamps the modular front bumper. All industries are in this shitstorm together and economies are out of whack all over the place.

Ford is one of 1000s of companies right now who cannot keep their promises, and don't even know what to promise.

So no I'm not surprised, and no I don't place 100% of the blame on Ford. Just be thankful they're not raising the prices on us because it is definitely a seller's market. (Curious what 2022 prices will look like - they won't be lower)

I know you don't want to hear it, but COVID created a massive bullwhip effect which will not stabilize for YEARS. Even thought the pandemic is effectively over for many, the initial upheaval which was caused was devastating. Combine this with growing pent-up demand and this is what you get.

Even if COVID wasn't a thing, Ford would still have had issues no doubt, but not on this level. Oh and just wait till people freak out with "The Delta variant"...
