How Do You Clean and Care for Your MIC Hard Top?

Anyone live in an area with extremely hard water? Any issues with hard water spotting?

I have extremely hard well water and definitely get water spots if I don't dry it off quickly. Wash and dry the top first then wash and dry one side at a time and it should prevent spotting.

I rinse it off with the wand at the local self-serve car wash. I do not hold the trigger in for full blast - just the pressure coming from the wand.
Have not really thought about it too much, I take care of the painted surfaces more.

Plus, mother nature rinses it off too

I use Technicians choice ceramic spray TEC582 on MIC top as well as vehicle. Good product with good results. Since we have hard water, we use TEC582 as a drying agent too.

Why have you chosen not to protect the top from UV rays and possible damage with some kind of protectant?

I admire your optimism that the biggest threat to the long-term appearance of the MIC top will be the sun.

If you don’t get mud on it your not trying hard enough

I'm not doing anything special to take care of it.
It occasionally goes through the local car wash along with the rest of the vehicle

It's pretty clear that the tops were not high on the "to do list" when designing the 6g.

Looking forward to an aftermarket top.

When I do pick one, it will be one that requires no special care or box of bandaids on hand because of the overlooked sharp edges.
