I have the B&O. I am not ready to spend money on the upgrade for it. Mostly because I'm saving for portals and two sets of 40's.
My biggest complaint is not the muddy mids and lows. Mine is the rattle that definitely has gotten worse with time.
I pushed on the panel wile playing some music that made the rattle particularly bad. I decided to put some foam rubber sheeting between the enclosed the panel.
After pulling the panel I discovered one are of the sub enclosure seemed to be where most of my rattle was emanating from. I removed the bolt put a small square of the rubberized foam between the plastic box and the body. This almost eliminated the bulk of my rattle.
After that I made a layer of the material between the wheel well and the panel. I re-torqued the bolt and viola.
It is much more tolerable.
Side note, I get a cleaner sound on mine by flattening all the eq settings, turning the volume to the highest setting I'd listen at then bringing the highs up to desired level. Next I bring up the lows. ( on this system it isn't much) Then I bring up mids. ( That is less than my lows! )
I get liveable sound this way.
Here is the material I used.
